BioShock 2: Minerva's Den review: Turing Rapture

Sep 6th 2010 1:47PM (Joystiq)
I finished Minerva's Den last night and I was throughly impressed with it. I actually found myself drawn more to this DLC experience than most of Bioshock 2. Not that the campaign for Bioshock 2 was bad, just not as intriguing as Minerva's Den. More of a mystery with Minerva's Den. Great DLC, now I'm ready for Bioshock Infinite!

Joyswag: BioShock Infinite swag bag, 'murder of crows' drink, posters

I could say something witty to get your attention. But that would be lying, so I'm going to say something truthful and boring. Coke is what I usually drink. Its the only drink that when you drink it, makes you go "ahhhhh" after the 1st sip.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 gets Doom, Super Skrull, Chun-Li and Trish

I'm glad more Devil May Cry characters are making an appearance. I just hope that Vergil and Lady are included as well. Trish is rather boring in comparison to those 2 characters.

Sony: 'Don't use your PS3' until internal clock bug is fixed

I wondering if this is what has been causing all the Heavy Rain problems. Maybe after they fix this, the Heavy Rain 'black loading screen' glitch will be fixed.

BioShock 2's plasmid-packed multiplayer trailer makes a splash

Sep 4th 2009 2:01PM (Joystiq)
I think people need to give the developers the benefit of the doubt. So many people were complaining about the multiplayer, and how it wouldn't be any good, and then the trailer came out. Now a good percentage of those people are actually interested in the multiplayer. I think the reason it looked so chaotic is because of the edits in the video, though I do think this will be a fast paced multiplayer, such as Team Fortress 2 or Left for Dead, but then again its not out yet, so maybe its not. The other thing I'm constantly hearing is that "Bioshock was great, it doesn't need a sequal" or that "Why does Bioshock 2 have Multiplayer?". In fact there was a comment on this article that said "I feel the story of Rapture was told completely in the first game"... Really? I think not. There is potential for a sequel to the story, Bioshock 2, and very very good potential for a prequel. I'd love to see the fall of Rapture. This leads into my "Why does Bioshock 2 have Multiplayer" counter-point. The multiplayer isn't just killing or team battles. This isn't Halo multiplayer here. Although Halo multiplayer is very enjoyable, its not super in depth like Bioshock 2 will be. The whole point of the Multiplayer is to see a 'glimpse' of Rapture before the "civil war" started around the time of the 1959 Masquerade Ball. You'll collect audio diary's as well as other items that will build upon the stories already told in rapture. Your character will have his or her own apartment in rapture where he/she can go to catch up on what's going on in Rapture. And each character has his or her own small story. So the multiplayer is really there for those who enjoyed the single player experience of the games. It builds upon the story that's being told.

Rock Band Weekly: Grateful Dead Pack 2

Jan 23rd 2009 6:54PM (Joystiq)
ok, not that i don't like the grateful dead, but why not some freaking new bands already? Or some more of other bands? There's like no Coheed and Cambria, when there is a forum on the rock band website that has over 500 or more signatures, and that's forum number 3 for coheed. NOTE: I'm using coheed as an example, don't freak out on me by saying that I just want ALL coheed. It was mentioned that Radiohead should be added, now I personally HATE Radiohead, but guess who doesn't...like half of the freakin world! Why not add them instead of a band that already has numerous tracks. And why not other genres? Anybody listen to ska? A lot of people do, I listen to it, and the one ska song they have is by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, which isn't even their best song. What happened to variety in the downloadable packs? Why isn't there any new stuff? This is Rock Band, not "old classic rock music that our parents grew up and probably experimented to drugs to Band. I love and enjoy a lot of that music, but I'd like to see MY generation's music being put up for download and represented.
