Cooking Mama coming to arcades, looks pretty unsanitary

When will this be in arcades? Is it Japan only, or will it be released in America too. More information would be nice as it is released. Thanks Joystiq!

Valve undecided about Left 4 Dead DLC working in L4D2

Aug 11th 2009 3:34AM (Joystiq)
Take a cue from Rock Band / Rock Band 2. Make the four campaigns on the L4D 1 disc uploadable and playable from the HDD when you have L4D 2 in the system. Also have the DLC cross compatible. The only twist is the new game is going to have a new look to it, four different playable characters and a mess of other things Valve decided to try to tweak to gain a larger audience. I don't know what they were thinking. They have a strong fan base that they've catered to for a long time. L4D 2 just leaves a bad taste in my mouth like they're releasing the L4D version they ACTUALLY wanted to make after selling the preview at $60 a pop.

GameStop's employee checkout policy may be illegal [update]

Apr 10th 2009 2:48PM (Joystiq)
On the flip side to all the haters...

If you don't like being forced into buying a new game that's been opened, then sorry, you won't have a box to look at out on the wall. You'll be forced to always buy them Wal-Mart style. Through the glass. Can't look at the back until you bother some one to open the case and let you look. Theft is a major issue for video games. Sure checking out the new games, playing them, and selling them as new surely cries foul, but creating the display case is just a fact. Sorry to any of you that don't like buying the last copy thats been opened, but by opening that ONE game, GameStop was able to encourage at least 50 sales. Cearly a better business model on that sense. Selling new games that have been played as new is wrong though. Simply displaying them? I think there are worse things to cry over.

Joyswag: Nintendo DSi, Rhythm Heaven & accessories [update]

Apr 7th 2009 1:17AM (Joystiq)

I will also show the DSi to my friends from school that consider me to be every bit the nerd I actually am. This will in no way surprise them, but I'm sure they'd find it pretty cool with the mp3 player and the web browser and all.

I would show it off to all my friends at work that say it's not enough of an upgrade over the DS Lite to justify the price. I'd put it in all their faces and let them know what a great deal it is when it's FREE! MUAhahahahaha.

Joystiq Review: Bit.Trip: Beat (WiiWare)

Bought it. Played it a couples times now. Cheap game only 600 points. Cool soundtrack. Passable gameplay. Co-op multiplayer is nearly a necessity due to the difficulty of the game. I find it to be a good casual fit for me and my Wii. I plan to hop into this one every once in a while when I don't have enough time for a good sitting into a deeper game. Very enjoyable.

10 million accept Wii Play with Wiimote purchase

Mar 20th 2009 6:54PM (Joystiq)
GameStop sells Wii play separately from the remote used for 19.99.

They take the remotes and games used on trade as separate items. Used remotes cost 34.99

Anyone who knows the stink of the game would NEVER buy it by itself used. Tanks and shooting gallery are the only decent parts of it at all, and they lose their appeal after about 5 minutes each.

People only buy it because they need another remote and see a game with the remote for only $10 more. No one buys this game for the game...

Metallica reveals full setlist for Guitar Hero: Metallica

Jan 25th 2009 1:32AM (Joystiq)
My Rock Band 2 instruments better work with this one, cause that's a really good sounding track list. Not only are those the best Metallica songs ever, but the tracks they're including from other bands are really really good too. This will make a fine addition to the music game genre.^^
