Yeah I agree as well. I use it as a time killer at work cause my job is dreadfully boring, but active enough that I don't get a lot of time to dick around. So the 20 seconds it takes me to restock everything is a sort of zen like escape for me.
But my real quam is the "bux" system it uses to make actual profit. You need the bux for everything but can't buy them with the coins your tower makes. You can only buy more bux with real life money and even though that's still completely optional, the elevators is what gets ya. They become painfully slow after like 10 levels. 20 and I was crying. I made enough bux in game to get the first elevator upgrade but damn the next one is 75! and 125 after that!! It's almost impossible to make that many dollars in the game unless you play it everyday for a month. Even then I dunno if you're gonna hit 75. (espescially if the elevator speed bugs you as much as it does me, I never take anyone to their floors anymore! I'm too worried it'll be floor 28 and that's like 20 seconds of my life I'll never get back. And those jerk bitizens don't even tip you everytime!!)
I got to tower level 31 but without 100 free bux there's no way I can continue. Those elevators are just too damn slow and I don't think this style game is worth the $5 it would cost to get 100 bux.

Feb 4th 2012 11:32AM (Joystiq)Games on Demand is the biggest rip off ever. A LOT of those games are listed as full price or close to it. There's no physical copy and new copies of the game are almost always 50%-60% cheaper in stores. If you buy used games then it's no contest.
