This hasn't happened before? I thought this was an honest post about how baffling this is. Because I know I've been playing Halo 3 matchmaking before with well over 1,000,000 other people playing it. I guess no one plays anything besides Halo and Call of Duty.

Uhh... welcome to marketing, where the whole point is to take advantage of peoples ignorance and to make your product/service look superior while still remaining honest. Which is exactly what Verizon is doing. It's not their fault if people don't do go google the difference between edge and 3G before they buy a new phone if they're looking to take advantage of web browsing.

I really don't understand why Apple doesn't release a standalone glass touchpad like what's in their new Macbook Pros. I'm sure it's technologically feasible to make a thin rectangular prism with an extremely small bezel to house it too. Just make sure it's made of the trackpad material, NOT the Magic Mouse material. It's not frictionless enough against your fingers like the trackpad is.

So this begs the question.... If Verizon is evil, and Verizon is partnering with Google, then by the transitive property isn't Google now evil?

Seriously, I don't understand how this is all that big a deal. Similar to what you just said, if you think about how good this game is compared to all the other games that cost $60 is it worth the price? I don't see how it couldn't be. I've gotten at least 5hrs/wk average out of Halo 3 since it came out. Compare that to a shorter game, a crappier game, a less replayable game, a movie ticket, even a DVD- I don't care. I feel like it's got a better cost/benefit ratio than all of those by far.

And I have to bring this up- for one thing, if EA can charge $60 for Madden for very minimal "new" content, then Bungie/Microsoft can sure as hell charge $60 two years after Halo 3 for this game.
