Dale Earnhardt Jr. signs 5-year contract with Hendrick Motorsports

Jun 13th 2007 3:36PM (Autoblog)
He has said that he wants to drive the 3 at the *end* of his career, which I imagine is probably 15-20 years away or more. Right now, he needs to be in a good car, and there isn't any better than Hendrick right now. Especially if you consider next year is all COT, and Hendrick's COT cars are far and away the class of the sport.

He could not have made a better decision.

That's not prejudice, that's stupidity.

The tale of GameSpot's vanishing LocoRoco review

Jul 28th 2006 6:14PM (Joystiq)
Thanks, Jason.

But, just doing some minimal browsing, in about 5 seconds I found no less than 19 other reviews of the game... so that begs the question, who gives a crap if LameSpot pulls their review?? There's plenty of other opinions out there, and some of them by people who actually can review a game.

2006 Mazda MX-5 Grand Touring in the Autoblog Garage Day 3-4

"...at least this little roadster doesn't feel like a go-kart with airbags anymore."

You say that like this is a good thing? What is it that you're looking for? A two seater convertible that rides like a Maybach?? This precise quality is what turned me with the original Miata. I've been driving one for 11 years now. And, no, I don't like the new ones very much myself. I'm driving my last Miata (a '99) unfortunately.

Plummeting prices for used SUVs a problem for GM, Ford

May 25th 2006 9:48PM (Autoblog)
I can definitely confirm this in real life. I've been shopping for a used Ford Expedition for the past year or so, I can definitely see prices dropping on this model in particular. I've also looked at a few Excursions on and off (a bit too big for me), and the prices on those, especially the gasoline V10 ones, have dropped significantly. There's lots of peeps that are going to buy these big SUV's that couldn't have afforded them before. The SUV era is definitely not over by any stretch...just moving down market a bit.

Texas law enforcement issued 700 HP Hummer

May 11th 2006 5:23AM (Autoblog)
I can't possibly imagine the tax payers of that county are pleased with an expenditure like this. I won't even mention the complete and utter uselessness of this vehicle, which is basically a gussied up GM pickup modifed to drink even more gas?

Is there anyone anywhere that still thinks H2 and H3 Hummers are remotely cool? I doubt it.

The modern age of vending

One short visit to Japan, and you will realize how woefully out of date and inadequate the U.S. vending industry really is.

Will couch potato mentality kill the digital living room?

Dec 12th 2005 2:49AM (TUAW.com)
The only problem I have with this post (and David's article) is that WebTV isn't "gone". They're still selling it, and peeps are still buying it and using it. Admittedly, it's market share is a bit smaller than Apple's (which is to say about the same as the Phantom game console), but it is by no means "gone".
