Deus Ex: Human Revolution coming to Mac this 'winter 2011/12'

Sep 12th 2011 10:00AM (Joystiq)
@John Z
The original Deus Ex was ported to the old/classic Mac OS, not the newer OSX, so it's unlikely to show up on Steam.

Dragon Age 2 writer responds to complaint about BioWare neglecting 'straight male' demographic

@Billlop
He only makes a pass at you once - turn him down and he never does it again. I've played through and been friendly to Anders without any romance whatsoever, beyond that one scene where you can only pick flirt or reject. If he keeps making passes at your Hawke, you must have picked a heart dialogue option for him at some point.

@Ender7
There's only one male character who hits on you (excluding the prostitute - it's his job) and that's Anders. He does so once in the whole game, and if you turn him down, he never hits on you again.

Fenris flirts only if you flirt with him first by picking the heart dialogue options, and in his brief cameo Zevran only propositions you if you flirt with him. Unless you've been running around flirting with all the men in Kirkwall, none of them are trying to sleep with you.

Actually both male and female Hawke can romance Fenris. It's only Sebastian who is restricted to women only (and it's not really a romance compared to the others).

Catherine and Gal Gun demos available in Japan this month

@Iroquois
It's pretty common to use hiragana where katakana would conventionally be just for aesthetic reasons (I saw a donut stall in an old-world style shopping street when I visited Ise which used どうなつ instead of ドーナツ because it fitted the surroundings better). The series Lucky Star's title is written similarly: らき☆すた

Three new colors for DSi in Japan

Feb 27th 2009 3:57AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The blue looks really nice - I always liked the Enamel Navy Lite as well, and was disappointed it was never released in Europe. I might pick this up when I'm in Japan later this year. I'll only be able to use the store for the ten months that I'm over there, but if I get a DSi when they're released in Europe, I won't be able to use the store in Japan either, so there are disadvantages whatever I choose.

DSFanboy used to list the Japanese, Australian and European releases as well as the US ones. Any chance of this returning? As a European gamer I really appreciated a list of releases for my own country as well, and I also enjoyed finding out what was being released in Japan, as I sometimes import games as well.

Surprise! Introducing our DS and Wii tabs

Thanks for getting it all set up! It's good to see DSFanboy back, albeit under a new name.

Welcome to Joystiq Nintendo!

The new layout is nice, and I'm fine with wanting the 'fanboy' label gone, but I hope a filter is added soon, and a DS-only RSS-feed as well. I don't want have to wade through posts about a console I don't own just to get my DS news - that's what every other gaming site on the internet is for. Also, count me as another reader disappointed to see Alisha gone.

I'm definitely still going to be reading - you're the best place I've found for DS news and that's not likely to change, but here's hoping the filtering etc. gets set up quickly.
