Thank you. You're exactly right. I think people might have a right to complain if 360 disk games started to cost $100 at retail, but $15 is cheaper than most games and it seems like the game will be more enjoyable than most as well.
BTW, the main way this one is different from Scorched Earth? This one isn't turn based, but maybe if you watched any of the videos or knew anything at all you wouldn't need me to tell you.
Lol you people who have never played the original Death Tank and are talking out of your asses. There is no flash game with this gameplay, it's nothing like Scorched Earth or Cannon Fodder. You people complain about game prices and then buy shitty ass Afro Samurai or Wii games over titles like this? I'll admit $15 is probably a little high for the amount of time most people will play the game, but so many people buy worse games for more, you have NO right to complain at all.
This is a good example of why free market capitalism doesn't work.
CEOs get millions of dollars, banks keep giving out massive loans, no one is held personally responsible when billions of dollars suddenly evaporate and the people who caused the problems are living it up.
Success in capitalism isn't based on hard work or innovation, it's based on running a good scam, and having friends that will help keep you out of trouble.
I think SF4 actually might contend for best selling game in 09 this year. If a COD6 comes out it probably will still sell more, but I expect SF4 to be in the top 5 best selling games.
Well with 360 and PS3 you get what you pay for. They're high performing, but built for cheaper than they might be. At least for the first few years, MS sold 360s at a loss. If they built them all with the highest quality components, the system would have launched at over $500, I mean they cost MS $600 to build as they were at launch anyways.
If any component in Wii is expensive, it's because it uses components so out of date, that manufacturers only make those parts for Wii, so it wastes efficiency. There isn't many companies purchasing 729MHz Power PC processors anymore.
I think there's a real risk of reduced hardcore games as time goes on. If the casual market becomes truly massive, it becomes much more efficient to target those people than the 'hardcore' market. I don't think we're at that point yet, Wii only manages to sell somewhat more than 360 and PS3 combined worldwide, and PC helps a little to the PS3/360/PC game platform as well. Imagine if Wii (or a future casual system) was outselling 360 by 10 times though? It'd be a completely different matter.
I think I can get past the fact that Wii is a low performing, horribly overpriced product that sells purely on marketing and gimmicks rather than quality. While the hardware does limit games somewhat, games like Mario Kart Wii are still a lot of fun, and I enjoy them. However, I don't think anyone should be happy about horribly shitty titles like Wii Play selling as well as they are. That ONLY hurts the video game industry and thus only hurts us gamers.
