Cave to put projects on hold, refocus on social gaming

Jan 14th 2012 8:58PM (Joystiq)
Ok if "Deathville" was actually created and was a really twisted version of the "ville" games where there were cool designed dio de los muertos style characters that would be AWESOME! LOL

Silent Hill: Downpour brings the old back to the new

Eating a hot pocket would probably be more entertaining and satisfying McDude. However if the game does turn out to be a high quality product I'll gladly eat my words. If it turns out to be a total crapfest then I guess you'll be eating those hot pockets pressing play on the next episode of full metal as well.

Silent Hill: Downpour brings the old back to the new

Have a feeling this is not going to be a good game. Everything they've shown so far has been pretty lackluster. The fact it's already had a delay when it was supposed to be close to completion last year doesn't give me much hope this will be a quality product. The last game konami handed to another developer (who really didnt have a great game under their belts to begin with) turned out to be a big let down and an overall mess in design (Castlevania Lords of Shadow). They should be handing their projects to established development studios with people who know what they're doing and do it well. Giving such big name franchises to small unknown devs who don't have high quality games under their belts is just asking for disaster. I'll be truly surprised if this turns out well but from early previews on various sites showing builds that were supposed to be close to a complete product it didn't look or sound like they were on a solid track. This interview makes it sound even worse.

Lord Raptor approves: Darkstalkers coming to PSN this month

Nov 17th 2011 9:29PM (Joystiq)
@ShadowLordAriel Nevermind I just read that it is indeed the watered down PS1 port.........BOOOOOO! Let's hope that they release the PS2 collection version for download on US PSN.

Lord Raptor approves: Darkstalkers coming to PSN this month

If this is the original PS1 version no thanks. That was one of the WORST ports of one of the best and most underrated fighting games from Capcom. It would be better if they released a full PS3 version of Chaos Tower or the Japanese only version PS2 Darkstalkers collection. I guess we'll have to wait and see on the 29th.

Miyamoto interested in 3D remakes of 2D Zelda titles

Nov 11th 2011 10:05AM (Joystiq)
@Janitor I agree! I've owned every Nintendo console and it seems everything after the 64 has been pretty lackluster. I personally am tired of the millionth rehash of an old title. How many times are they going to rerelease a Zelda or Mario game and make some simple graphical tweak and slap some lame console subtitle in it and brand it "new"? I've been a Nintendo fan a long time but u definitely feel they haven't grown up with their audience over the years. They're content on releasing the same things over and over again. And I'm not a fan of games like pikmin or Pokemon. They've stated kid centric or the most part when it comes to first party titles. While there's nothing wrong with that I wish they'd venture out and come up with things that cater to those of us who are looking for more adult oriented stories and games.

Sony's Yoshida 'very aware' of how much we hate firmware updates

Sep 21st 2011 10:13AM (Joystiq)
I think everyone is blowing this whole thing out of proportion. updates are not something that happens everytime you turn the ps3 on. They happen. They're necessary. They don't happen as much as everyone complains about. The real problem us that Sony did not figure out how to streamline the process for the ps3 and now they're learning from their mistakes as all companies do. Hopefully when the ps4 comes out they won't repeat these mistakes. As far as the Vita is concerned as long as they bring out great software I'm sure the system will be a long term success. it's good they're addressing the firmware updates for it.

Nintendo 3DS circle pad attachment coming to Japan on Dec. 10

Sep 13th 2011 10:19AM (Joystiq)
It's Virtual Boy all over again. Nintendo doesn't know how to craft their hardware to take into account gamers current play styles and habits. While they hide behind the idea of innovation they're essentially taking themselves out of the competition slowly but surely by only sticking to what they know and what they perceive the gaming public wants. I never saw the 3DS as a good investment because they didn't have any great new games to show for it. They're resting on the laurels of re-hashed old titles. Without high profile third party games to help support it it's just a DS with an extra gimmick tacked on. Now they're slapping an extra piece of hardware on it realizing they screwed up. Yeah they're really not convincing me this a console to own. Maybe after a redesign and some better games I'd consider it but for now nintendo has lost my interest.
