Rumor: BioShock 2 to feature multiplayer

Mar 16th 2009 11:23AM (Joystiq)
I wonder how big the shoehorn used to get multiplayer into this game was?

House of the Dead: Overkill has most swearing ever

I'm getting oddly disturbing images of the Count from Sesame Street....

If you ask me, I'd rather see a mess of pixels rather than smoothing. Most "smoothing" techniques leave a blurry and unrecognizable mess, in my opinion.

But, coming from an old-school arcade gamer like me, I think EVERYTHING would be better with pixels.

Not sure if being on top of that particular list is something to be proud of...

Resident Evil 5 ships 4 million copies worldwide

This game truly is great. Who cares if it doesn't control like Dead Space? Resident Evil is always great, and it's great to hear that lots of people think the same way.

I LOVES me some Fight Night, and the more I hear about this game, the more I want it.

Ali and Tyson throw down in Fight Night: Round 4 trailer

Tyson had the most devastating punching power I have ever seen come from a boxer. I think, had Cus D'Amato (his original trainer and mentor) stayed alive, we'd be saying that Tyson was the "greatest of all time" rather than the shell of his former self he is nowadays.

RE5, not RE4 - I know, it's hard to tell the difference, right?

Joystiq Review: Resident Evil 5

Mar 12th 2009 3:17PM (Joystiq)
Maybe it's just me, but I enjoyed the heck out of the demo. I think the backlash against this game is from the "new generation" of gamers who want everything to control and look like CoD4.

I am an arcade gamer at heart, so Capcom is one of my favorite gaming companies of all time. I do enjoy a Resident Evil now and again. However, back when I was playing games really hardcore, half of the fun of the game was learning the different gameplay style. Games once differentiated themselves from each other by having different control methods, and different levels of difficulty. Most of the fun was derived from seeing just how good you could get in a certain game.

...to which I say - what's the point if everything controlled like CoD4 or Gears of War? It's just like playing those games over again with different graphics. Gamers nowadays are unwilling to adapt to new playstyles and experiences. If Street Fighter wasn't already an established franchise, people would hate SF4 for being "so much harder than other fighters". It's a double standard, really.

I, for one, am going to have a lot of fun with RE4 on Friday, regardless of what people choose to nitpick about. I'd much rather play THIS than a re-skinned CoD clone anyway.

Resident Evil 5 DLC adds new online multiplayer modes

Thank you for clarifying. This sounds more like RE-style multiplayer than the "OMGGEARZCLONE" that some people are predicting.
