Call of Duty: World at War map pack to include new zombie level

Feb 10th 2009 4:27PM (Joystiq)
Apparently you guys never experiment with new strategies because not opening up at least one of the stairs is a horrible strategy that doesnt get you very far. It's too hard for 4 people to hold both the bottom floor help room and main room. There are way too many windows. If you try to hold just the help room, it's too hard covering the main help door. The side window near the door is too close, which allows zombies to run into the help room with too little advanced warning. There are 3 main places to hold out with great advantages. You can open the help door, and the stairs in the help room. Then you can all run upstairs and bunker down in the room with grenades on the wall. Zombies can only get in from 2 points, the door and the 1 window. Someone can also just keep buying grenades and throwing them like crazy. This strategy is good, but requires you all have good guns. It's hard to find time to run to the random box downstairs between rounds to buy new weapons...especially on higher levels. Another place to bunker down is upstairs in the far corner near the trench gun at the wall. There will be only 1 window to hold and if you all huddle together, the zombies will run at you in straight lines from the open side. This is good, but again, it is hard to run downstairs between rounds. The last and best method in my opinion is to open the stairs in the main room, which leads to the room with grenades on the wall. From there you open the other stairs which leads you to the help room from the backside. Then everyone camps in the help room but you leave the help door closed. You have people with machines guns and ray guns cover the stairs that go down, and the rest cover the 2 windows and walls. The zombies are slowed down a little when they have to turn the corner to come downstairs, and they come down in a nice straight line usually. Also, this gives you guys easy access to the random box for weapons between rounds, and even during rounds with a lull in action. There is only 4 entry point for zombies, so even though that is more than the area upstairs, I feel the benefits of easy access to the box make up for it. When things get despearate, if everyone huddles at the far window, the zombies will run at you in straight lines in a last ditch attempt to clear the room.
