Activision finds no Bizarre buyers, recommends closure

@PR0F3TA

No, let's not blame the gamers who bought it. Because I did.

...And I promptly returned it to the local gamestop and demanded a refund the next day.

Who the h*** puts out a racing game on PC without wheel support??? It, along with split-second, were my hopes for a fun PC action-racing games last year. Both were total duds. As a HUGE project gotham fan, I have no pity for them when it comes to Blur.

I'm left handed, and this looks like their QA department isn't.
...Pass.

@Blacknimbus

Got rejected. Vague message about not censoring some russian 900 number, and duplicating upcoming functionality.

Sony hints at PSN-for-pay once again

@SolidSnake Agreed. I don't own any, and don't really want to. So rental (two at a time?) would be nice (for me). But HD up-conversion would be a REALLY nice perk.

Another one to clarify on the DLC (Singstar would be a perfect example). Free access to all (or select DLC) for members as long as you're a subscriber.

Sony hints at PSN-for-pay once again

A premium service....hmm...

How about.... Playstation 2 Game RENTALS!!!

* There's a HUGE catalog of games I'd absolutely LOVE to play. All you can eat, $$ a month! That'd be a hit. We already know that software emulation on the ps3 is possible! (Hot damn that would be cool!!!!!!)

* Maybe throw in some points each month, or a discount on DLC.

* FREE/exclusive games.

* Access to ALL closed beta testing. (Wee!!)

* "Exclusive" multiplayer events (like xbox's game with developers/famous people.

* Game shows (to compete with xbox prime time)

* MMO games

* More/Better PSP integration/functionality. (think: dreamcast)

* Dedicated/persistant servers for games.

* An all-you-can-eat music service/subscription!

* FREE singstar tracks (okay, maybe that's selfish on my part...)

My point is: There are LOTs of things that could be done WITHOUT charging for BASIC multiplayer functionality on a $60 game.

MS may have a good online service, but no one loves them for charging for peer-to-peer multiplayer. Sony has an opportunity to do it right.

Verbatim InSight USB drives display name, free space even when disconnected

Something tells me the moment I format it to something other than FAT32 (NTFS if lucky) that "always-on" display will be "forever broken."

Worst $120 I ever spent. EVER. Game after game, that card proved it couldn't even run nvidia's own demos with any spunk. Couldn't play Doom3 at a decent resolution, couldn't play FarCry with anything cranked up - not get into how unstable the overclock was...

...dang was I glad to give that card away!

ASUS Eee Box 206 reviewed; has HDMI but can't handle high-def

May 7th 2009 11:03AM (Engadget)
Well said, I'm willing to bet that most boxes out there aren't taking advantage of CoreAVC. Even my x2 5050e in my media center struggled with some 1080p content, add coreavc to offload that to the gpu, and there's processor to spare. But you have to pick the right player. Again, well said. Maybe someone who knows what they are doing should review the new Eee.

Engadget's recession antidote: win a copy of Resident Evil 5 for Xbox 360!

Not that anyone cares, but the best way to fix the economy is to make it fair again. Regulate the ones taking our money: Insurance companies, financial institutions, and healthcare place an unnecessary drain compared to the level of service being provided. If a company is mismanaged, either nationalize it completely and break it up - or let it fail in chapter 11. Will it be rough? Yes. But it won't be the prolonged pain we're going through right now. Having everyone actually pay taxes would be kinda cool too.

Not wasting tax money on crap would also be pretty awesome. Especially on bridges to microsoft, and iraq.

Let crappy companies go out of business, even banks. If it poses a danger, the government can create special bankruptcy rules that can help preserve the economy.

Thanks,
