Call of Duty 5 in 'new military theater', returns series to PS2 and Wii

May 9th 2008 10:29PM (Joystiq)
Why are we even talking? They were asking for WWII earlier, and there hasn't been a COD game in the Pacific theater yet; that is what it is obviously going to be. And since its Treyarch, it's going to suck.

Umm when he is killing them after they attack him with axes, knives, and such, I don't think he's really slaughtering, but fighting for his life. Just like in RE4, Leon didn't just start killing people until he realized that they were out to kill him.

Fight for NY was pretty solid and I'm a fan of rap music, so part of me hopes for this game to be good, but it'll probably suck. If 50 Cent and the Game are in it though, it may be worth the $50 to see Game stomp the hell out of 50 Cent to "300 Bars and Runnin".

CNN needs police escort to escape Wii-craving mob

You fanboys are ridiculous. When its against the PS3, its obviously true, and its sad, and etc etc its the fall of mankind and whatever. However, a negative story about Wii fans (that is very believable) and its obviously faked, shes a lying bitch, etc etc. I own a Nintendo Wii and Zelda is very good for it, but a story like this is sad.

The Wii holiday buyer's guide part 1: the new adopter [update 1]

Yeah, you could buy them Excite Truck, SMB Banana Blitz and Mario Bros Arcade, or you could save yourself $105 and buy them easily the best title on the system so far, Twilight Princess. The game isn't that out of reach for new players, and Excite Truck is just downright terrible. SMB is the epitome of a hardcore game, repetitve challenging tasks that some people will never complete due to limited skill.

Here's my rebuttal to your blog:
1. "Seriously, with the new games coming out of completely voice-overed dialogue, the human race is going to become a giant amorphous blob of perspicacious philistines."
Yes, because when they added voices to movies, it made humanity stupid and movies worse, because you couldn't imagine what Charlie Chaplin sounded like.

2. People are going to compare it to the other system's graphics. Heck, they are comparing it to previous gen games. TP doesn't even look better on a technical than Resident Evil 4, and I think if that went by unnoticed I'd have to question the reviewers motives. The art style is great though, I love it.

3. Why can't Zelda have a good story? Just because the other ones have stuck to a mostly cliched formula, every other one must also? (I've actually heard this one is fairly fresh and new, so kudos.)

4. You miss what he is saying. Hes saying that he is able to defeat enemies with little strategy at all. Its not about the realism, but the fact that you can just button smash (or in this case, wand wave) your way through hordes of most enemies in the game. It's a difficulty complaint.

5. As much as I miss orchestrated music, I heard the digitized stuff is very well done and not that noticeable.

6. Why should standing up be a requirement? Generally, I game to unwind, and get a bit out of the real world. If I want to be active, I'll go do that. Also, realize this isn't like Wii Sports, with short bursts of playing time; a lot of sections in the game are going to take an hour, two hours, maybe even 3 hours. That is a long time for people to be standing and swinging wildly.

14. I never doubted TP, I knew it would live up to expectations. I just hope those guys over at Famitsu give it the 40/40 then the Zelda franchise will have 3 of the 7 perfect scores - with TP joining Ocarina and Wind Waker.

Too bad Wind Waker's 40/40 is horribly out of place; that game was nowhere near a "flawless game". In fact, I found it quite terrible for a Zelda title. Probably somewhere in the 8.5-9.0 range (which is still very good.)

Five reasons why Wii will disappoint

Nov 18th 2006 11:41AM (Joystiq)
I have to say, the controls are going to feel clumsy for some games. I tried Excite Truck, and I have to say I wasn't really feeling the Wii steering in that game. Very slick, and really oversensitive compared to steering with the analog stick. The analog stick seems to allow for more finesse for racing, at least to me. Or maybe its just that Excite Truck is a bad game.

Nintendo makes poopsky Wii advertorials

Nov 9th 2006 10:44PM (Joystiq)
Yeah, you'll burn calories. I also burn calories by simply existing. Oooh, big deal. No one is going to lose weight using the Wii, its not that intensive. This article is misleading from top to bottom; trying to hide the fact that its a video game system. It even blatantly lies about "turning off the TV" and such.
