If you pre Ordered a ps3 then you MIGHT get one on the 17th.

NOW... Lets lay out some rules.

If you bought your PS3 in hopes that it will be worth double - then you are probibly right. If you waited on the line and you wish to sell it - then you should be able to do so (Ebay, Private, Craigslist whatever) and all you assholes on here who claim price gouging, unfairness, ect... stop being jealous you aren't gonna have one to sell. Don't give me or anyone else BS stories that you would keep yours and play it. Everyone who don't have enough money to live comfortably would jump at an opportunity to make some cash. I bought one to sell... I want it to pay for my Xmas and perhaps kill some bills. Will I buy a PS3 for myself? Sure I will - but i only make $32,000 a year and I live in a place where it cost about $60,000 a year to live well. So I made a business investment. I spent my time to camp, my money to invest, my time to wait, my time to pick up, my money to list (on ebay), more of my time to wait, and hopefully in the end I will yeald a profit (oh plus gas for my car). Even if i make $1200 (double) how much of that is a True profit - how much time and energy did I waste to make $600. Was it worth it? Probibly. Is it rediculas? NOPE. Why? Because this is how the world works.
You and me all have been screwed like this all the time - weather it be a concert seat, a game system, a work of art, a rare item, a limited edition car, whatever else..... IF enough people what something and there are not enough to go around the value of the item goes up and only those who are looking to profit will sell what they have and they usually invest alot of time and effort to make a profit.
For those of you planing to use Ebay - my only advice is this. Wait until you have the system in hand. Ebay and sony or whoever else have NO RIGHT at all to have a legit auction killed. If you have it in hand - take your pic's post your auction and have no violated any ebay listing rules - your auction will complete with a winner (hopefully one who pays and not some dick looking to mees your auction up).
This nonsense about sony telling ebay to kill auctions for price gouging or anything else is rediculas. Sony follows 2 rules.... Sell at reasonable price to the Vendors/retails - then make sure they sell at the MSRP (again set by sony). Once the customer has the Item - sony can start claiming superiority and market share in the next generation console war. Thats about as far as they care about the PS3. They don't care if you open the box and play it or hold onto it and put it on ebay in hopes of some quick cash. An auction is an Auction.
Lastly - is this really anything new? Not really - it's only new becuase Ebay makes it seem that way. But I remember tons of toys long before the internet that once the retailers sold them, private people were looking to turn a quick buck. Even the Atari 2600 was like this, so was NES, SNES, Genesis, Elmo, Cabbage patch, Gijoe, TMNT and a ton of other crap. If ebay existed in 1976 on - this would be common place today. The fact that you NEWBIES (kids 12-25) see this as something new becuase you only see it on ebay and you grew up with ebay. I was already an adult dealing with this kind of crap before the internet took off. I embraced Ebay and so should all of you.
Is there anything Wrong in any sense with any of the crap going on with PS3 - if you decide to try to sell your pre order or wait until you have live product - it's all fair in a open enconomy. Don't cry foul if you didn't get one. I've tried to embrace my morals and it didn't work when it came to new game systems - so i'll do what everyone else does, buy and sell. It's atually healthy to the economy.
One more final note. Once I have my system in hand you are more than welcome to entertain me with your offers. It will be the $600 sku with Resistance Fall of man. Im looking for about $1500 to start. My wife needs a new car - now that would make her have a merry Xmas.
Thats not the point. The point is - if when i got there there was no line or the line was shorter than 7 people i would have gotten on it. But with 40+ people i knew I was not gonna get one.
It's kind of unfair that I wake up - read joystiq and find out this new only broke last night at 9pm. If they would have let us know even just a few days in advance I would have camped out.
I spend tons of cash on games and system and I use the same store all the time - so i guess hooking up some of your best customers isn;t a good practice anymore. SO i tried a bribe - he took it - i got my system and I will make my $50 back + more when I sell this on craigslist. I am a patient gamer - I'll get a ps3 for myself - but if this is going to be Xbox 360 all over again - how can i turn down that much cash.

Once you add tracks like Puff Daddy, you kill the Credibilty of the Game - no matter how rock it sounds its a RAP SONG.
The game is GUITAR HERO - not rapper song wants to sound rockin. Tell me - DO you ever see the guitar player at the puff daddy concert?
If you put songs like that in the game then you open it up to other Artist that Experiment with the Rock Genere but are not part of it, Like Run DMC, Cypress Hill, Dare I even say LL cool J - even Michael Jackson.
Put songs from any of those artist in the game and GH II will loose ALL credibilty - you all want metallica and puff daddy in the same game? are you all F'n nuts.
THE Only NON rock Genere Artist I say that has the Respect and Balls to be rock enough for Guitar Hero is BEASTIE BOYS - and that only because - Licence to ill has true Rock Tracks with a Real Guitar Hero playing the Solos's KERRY KING FROM SLAYER. - I might even think it would be ok to put in walk this way from Run DMC / Aerosmith becuase Joe perry and Steven Tylor worked with RUN DMC on it personally and they didn't sample them - but then again I rather just have WALK THIS WAY from AEROSMITH IN THE GAME - RUN DMC don't belong there.
And don't tell me public enemy either - just beucase they re-did Bring the noise don't mean it belongs in there - I like MADHOUSE alot better - though i think Caught in a mosh would be better for this game.

I knew the moment I played this game in October last year that it would be a huge hit and a Sequal would be deffinite.

ITS CALLED GUITAR HERO - well i grew up with a bunch of Guitar heros - Clapton, Vai, Satriani, Hammet, Page, Van Halen, Ect...
How cool would it be to have a GUITAR Hero battle - where instead of a pre done song - a Polygonal version of a guitar god (Say Randy Rhoads or Eddie Van Halen)is on stage and you have to Duel Note for note with the Guitar God and OR replicate what he does (solo wize) the Idea to sway the Audience Meter in your favor and thats how you Unlock ATUALL Guitar heros and their AXE's for use by yourself in the game - instead of having to earn cash to buy everything. Because I know that I could never afford to buy Van Halen But I could Earn his respect in a Guitar Duel to get him to play with me. Plus it adds a more realistic element to the game. If Actual guitarist Licences their likeness to RedOctaine would you be inclined (after you beat all the songs) to switch your made up character for Eddie VH and GO play that VanHalen song again. Who BTW would have special Moves and such when you set off the star power that are in the likeness of a real stage performance. Or remember the Unlockable Metal Head in GH 1 (forget his name) but he looks alot like a character from the cover of the Shout at the Devil Cover. Just change the hair and you have Mick Mars. ANyways the possiblitys are endless - but the creativity is there to leave the core mechanics alone but add GOODIES that truely set GH II apart from the Original.
Im sure there are 100's of killer songs that Could make the cut.

Double album edition. Make a 2 disk GH2 game for like $30 more - and call it the Arrogant Rockstar Double Album you know your going to buy it Edition.
You can always steal the album concept from Gun & Roses with their Use your illusions I and II. Make 2 games GH2 Vol1 and GH2 Vol2 Give us over 100+ songs and copy the concept for that for the cover art in terms of SAME COVER just different shades and colors. It would be a hoot.

Im sure there are tons more to list, but then again I don;t want to repeat bands since there seem to be only 1 song per artist - though an famous artist that has multiple bands can get on multiple times - Like OZZY. Perhaps Phil Ansolmo from Pantera - maybe even Dio?

Only 11 of 55 songs announced and I love them all.. Seriously.....
Even if it's one of the metal bands I never got into - I still know these songs becuase they were staples of the hits for these bands.
I have to admit, studio musicians for red octane are good, but nothing compares to neil pert on the Rush YYZ and you can totally hear it.
Shout at the devil seems cool but the guitar tuning is not perfect and the guy singing like vince does not have the range.
I feel the first game they Painfully tried to replicate the artist to truely make metal fans and casual music games feel at home with a sense of realisim - I hope that carries into this game - I hope they don;t just cut corners to get all the songs done. The Authentic feeling of the first set of sings from GH1 really made the game.
Now i hope for a few things.
1. More Realism in the song recordings. 2. A NEW STYLE guitar with the game. Gibson Explorer, les paul or maybe even a Flying V. 3. An Xbox 360 version with wireless guitar, Xlive downloadable songs and content weekly, Online battles and Online Audience + A mode that will let you pick a song off your Hard drive that you ripped, analise it and create a level for your Custom song. 4. Shorter load times. 5. Arena Mode where you pick 3-5 songs to do in a row concert style and get a overall grade. 6. Fast Foward, Rewind, Pause on the practive mode as well as A-B repeat - where you can mark a start point and end point and it loops the section over and over so you can practice it. 7. OPEN CORDS. To really add guitar realism - we need to play nites by just strumming the strum button depressing NO buttons for Open E and Drop D rythyms. 8. Indicators for Hammer ons and pull offs. The old system don't work right - hope they fix it. 9. I know they don't want to waste time on the old songs, but IF it comes to 360 there should be a donwload pack for the old songs. 10. More Jimmi and SRV please. 11. Metallica - Like that is going to happen - but I recommend that they get permission to use a famous metallica Cover if they cannot get a Actual Metallica song. LIke BreadFan, Last Carress, AM I Evil, Blitzkreig, or some other High Profile Song that Metallica has covered - that way they only need to get the original artist permission but they can make it sound like Metallica. I wouldn't mind Seeing AM I EVIL as Made Famous by - NOT METALLICA but it sound like the version on Kill em all. 12 - Led Zeppelin? Page? Perhaps? Hope so? 13 - Rearrange mode. A completely different arrangement for each song once you beat everything. 14. Online leaderboard (both PS2 and X360 if it comes out for 360) 15. Replay mode - ability to save your best performances and replay them. 16. For it to come out on time!!!

PS: Red Octaine - we chatted about a job, Im sorry if you didn't feal I wa able to help the franchise and give me a job, but I will try again next time i see you guys and remember I feel I have the fresh Ideas to really make this game something special - not that it isn't already - It is the best underground game of all time and Im sure you guys have the sales to prove it - I just feel I can make this game Explode!!! I go into best buy and just fool around with this game and sell 10 copies while playing and chatting with customers as i play - Imagine what i can do if you paid me to sell this game and come up with concepts - my list above should be enough proof.

Create a music Video Mode. Record yourself in the Game instead of the Guitar Hero Character.
Save the video.
Use camera Effects and Camera Angles that you pick to truly make the Video your own.
Save it to Memory Card / HDD.
With Xbox - ability to upload your video to xbox live for trade with other users.
Could be real interesting Idea? Especially if it comes to Xbox 360.

Three new Guitar Hero II tracks announced

Even if it's one of the metal bands I never got into - I still know these songs becuase they were staples of the hits for these bands.
I have to admit, studio musicians for red octane are good, but nothing compares to neil pert on the Rush YYZ and you can totally hear it.
Shout at the devil seems cool but the guitar tuning is not perfect and the guy singing like vince does not have the range.
I feel the first game they Painfully tried to replicate the artist to truely make metal fans and casual music games feel at home with a sense of realisim - I hope that carries into this game - I hope they don;t just cut corners to get all the songs done. The Authentic feeling of the first set of sings from GH1 really made the game.
Now i hope for a few things.
1. More Realism in the song recordings.
2. A NEW STYLE guitar with the game. Gibson Explorer, les paul or maybe even a Flying V.
3. An Xbox 360 version with wireless guitar, Xlive downloadable songs and content weekly, Online battles and Online Audience + A mode that will let you pick a song off your Hard drive that you ripped, analise it and create a level for your Custom song.
4. Shorter load times.
5. Arena Mode where you pick 3-5 songs to do in a row concert style and get a overall grade.
6. Fast Foward, Rewind, Pause on the practive mode as well as A-B repeat - where you can mark a start point and end point and it loops the section over and over so you can practice it.
7. OPEN CORDS. To really add guitar realism - we need to play nites by just strumming the strum button depressing NO buttons for Open E and Drop D rythyms.
8. Indicators for Hammer ons and pull offs. The old system don't work right - hope they fix it.
9. I know they don't want to waste time on the old songs, but IF it comes to 360 there should be a donwload pack for the old songs.
10. More Jimmi and SRV please.
11. Metallica - Like that is going to happen - but I recommend that they get permission to use a famous metallica Cover if they cannot get a Actual Metallica song. LIke BreadFan, Last Carress, AM I Evil, Blitzkreig, or some other High Profile Song that Metallica has covered - that way they only need to get the original artist permission but they can make it sound like Metallica. I wouldn't mind Seeing AM I EVIL as Made Famous by - NOT METALLICA but it sound like the version on Kill em all.
12 - Led Zeppelin? Page? Perhaps? Hope so?
13 - Rearrange mode. A completely different arrangement for each song once you beat everything.
14. Online leaderboard (both PS2 and X360 if it comes out for 360)
15. Replay mode - ability to save your best performances and replay them.
16. For it to come out on time!!!

PS: Red Octaine - we chatted about a job, Im sorry if you didn't feal I wa able to help the franchise and give me a job, but I will try again next time i see you guys and remember I feel I have the fresh Ideas to really make this game something special - not that it isn't already - It is the best underground game of all time and Im sure you guys have the sales to prove it - I just feel I can make this game Explode!!! I go into best buy and just fool around with this game and sell 10 copies while playing and chatting with customers as i play - Imagine what i can do if you paid me to sell this game and come up with concepts - my list above should be enough proof.
Anyways You probibly wont even see this.
