Limbaugh: Classless Players Look Like Bloods and Crips

Jan 27th 2007 8:49AM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
I'm willing to bet that those that agree with Rush and those that disagree are drawn along racial lines. I say to my brothers and sisters of a darker persuasion "Be not dismayed by the comments of those that agree with Mr. Limbaugh." More often than not, they are of a lighter persuasion and exhibit a distain for anything culturally that they can't relate to. These are the same people that cheer their teams on which are primarily made up of brown compexioned people and then spout derogatory racially biased comments about them. Oh how they long for the days when white men dominated sports, due to the exclusion of any credible competition.

LaDainian Tomlinson: Patriots, Bill Belichick Have No Class

Jan 15th 2007 1:16PM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
First of all, I have to say that this was a sloppy but good game. As for the comments made, this is a very passion filled sport with guys that live and die according to what goes on in the game, especially in the playoffs. It was unsportsmanlike to celebrate the way they did. I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan and to me, their antics were the equivalent of the T.O. standing on the Dallas Star incident. I think L.T. was just venting at a very emotional time. What I believe he probably was thinking is that if a coach doesn't tolerate that type of behavior, it is usually reflected in the way players carry them selves during the game.

More Details on Darrent Williams: Javon Walker Held Him As He Died

Jan 2nd 2007 2:14PM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
Wow! Some of the post are very thoughtful but there are some that suggest the authors have no sense of timing. "Gangstas paradise" Perhaps "Jake the Snake" is privy to something we're not. From my understanding, the altercation in the club didn't even include Mr. Williams. I guess because he was braided up and tatooed that makes him a gangster(lol). Ignorance is definitely bliss I suppose. But anyway, my deepest condolences to the family and the team.

ESPN Issues Statement on Michael Irvin's Tony Romo Comments

Nov 27th 2006 4:18PM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
I've read several of the comments posted and I find them quite humorous yet sad. The climate of political correctness in the media can at times have its pros and cons. I wasn't the slightest bit surprised at some of the racist overtones that accompanied some of the post. One post kept making references to tribal dancing and etc. Other post referred to the unlevel playing field when it comes to the standards that blacks are held to as compared to whites concerning political correctness.Concerning the post that made repeated references to blacks in sports using such terms as tribal dances and etc..... Look at the history of sports in America. Every sport that has ever been created by a white man has been revolutionized by the influx of black players and their contributions to game play. Baseball wouldn
't be what it is today. Football is the most exciting sport in the country today because of the contributions of African Americans. Yet white fans and coaches feel threatened when the same players that take their clubs to superbowls and make millions for owners and etc....do a celebratory dance that culturally they cant relate to. As far as the unfairness concerning the difference between the standards whites and blacks are held to in comparison to one another. There is a difference and it's unfair and unfortunate. However, in all fairness, whites for decades in this country enjoyed and unmatched freedom to say whatever they wanted to no matter how offensive and people of color were granted no such liberty. So, in essence, whites helped to create the climate of unfairness they so passionately gripe about today.

Tiki Barber: Irvin Is an Idiot and Blanket Journalist

Oct 29th 2006 12:16PM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
Wow! It's just football. I'm a diehard Dallas cowboys fan myself but I love the game of football first and foremost.Which makes me a fan of Tiki Barber because guys like him make the league great. But it just surprises me the way people grow to despise players and make personal comments about people they don't really know. I personally feel that Tiki over did it with his response. Although I disagree with the comments of Jackson, Irvin and others. The fact of the matter is that it could have been an issue for the team. Maybe it's not and that's a good thing but to resort to personal attacks on the ex player now media guy types is a bit much. The comment Tiki made using what they had just done to my beloved Cowboys would have been sufficient but the name calling was borderline a childish response to me. These guys are media guys now. They get paid to do what they do. Everyone has their oppinion. As far as Michael Irvin is concerned, he's obviously struggling with some serious personal demons. Drug addiction is no joke but It doesn't decrease your value as a person because you may be suffering with these personal demons. Once again I just want to say that I think Tiki is a really classy guy and the league will lose one of it's favorite sons and I wish him the best.

Harold Ford's Faux Pas

Oct 29th 2006 9:08AM (AOL Elections Blog)
Ahhh, the sweet smell of partisan politics. It's funny how people who sway in either political direction can look at the same statement and mentally spin it either to suggest something positive or negative depending on their political slant. I am of the oppinion that to compare President Bush's verbal blunders to Congressman Ford's statement is like comparing apples and oranges. It's just the plain truth that early in George Bush's career his blunders while speaking did make him appear as somewhat of a fish out of water when it came to international affairs. It didn't help that he had the liberal leaning media clinging on his every word because they did a lot to paint him as lacking.Congressman Ford, however, made a statement that if taken at face value can be seen as just the God's honest truth. Even our posessing of Nuclear weapons, although used and seen as a deterant, also poses a threat to our own national security if their is ever a breach of some sort nationally. The common thread that Ford used to group these nations was that their desire to have weapons puts the U.S. in greater danger can be honestly argued. The fact is that the sole existence of nuclear weapons puts our own existence at jeopardy. What's sad is that we live in such politicaly hot climate that we tend to act as if our loyalty lies with our party as opposed to our country.

10 ways Madden could be better [update 1]

Aug 26th 2006 11:16AM (Joystiq)
If you're like me, you play these games mostly because of your love of football. I've played both Madden and Take Two's 2k series. Although I prefered the 2k series for various reasons. Because of my love of the game of football, I must say that Madden will always be a viable alternative. I know that to the average person, seeing how fiercely loyal fans of these games can be in their defense of them may seem unreasonable but most of us are sports fans which in essence makes us very competitive by nature. I was upset when Madden locked the rights down to the NFL and Espn basically eliminating the competition. I've always believed that the competition between the two franchises would guarantee that both parties would strive each year to one up the other, product wise. I swore I wouldn't play Madden after their savy business move that basically monopolized their hold on the market. But because like most of us I am addicted to the game of football more than I am to the actual football game. I will probably buy Madden because I am addicted to the challenge of testing my knowledge of the game against an opponent online that believes his knowledge of the game is superior to mine. I so look forward to reading defenses and busting some rookies ass who insist on cheating his safety down to help stop the run only to have me audible to a play that exposes a mistake in his thinking. Anyway, I hope the product lives up to the hype. I better start brushing up on my Madden skills.
