Rumorang: Brutal Legend coming to Wii, not being developed by Double Fine

Apr 2nd 2009 11:24PM (Joystiq)
I said it before, and I'll say it again:

Brütal Legend on rails confirmed.

Schafer hesitates regarding Brutal Legend Wii rumor

Apr 2nd 2009 2:25PM (Joystiq)
"Indulging pure speculation, it's very possible that Schafer is telling the truth and the in-house version of Brütal Legend is not being made for Wii. We've seen it countless times at this point that many studios develop for Xbox 360 and PS3, leaving the Wii work to an outside entity."

Brütal Legend on rails confirmed.

Wii emulator boosts visuals to 720p HD

Last I checked, all the emulators had trouble simply running most commercial GC games, let alone Wii games in HD, unless things have progressed significantly in the last few months.

Rumor: Downloadable Game Boy and GBA games as DSiWare

Mar 24th 2009 6:14PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
"Wait wait wait wait wait. So because the DSi has a 133MHz processor, it can't emulate GBA games which utilized a 16.78MHz processor.

Sounds like a load of bull coming from your mouth, sir."

As a rule of thumb, emulators need to run on hardware about eight times as fast as the original system for decent speed and compatibility. Also, the GBA had a GPU in addition to the CPU, which also needs to be factored in.

"Then there's no reason that same ARM11 can't be used to run GBA games, which only used the ARM7."

If that's the case, why couldn't GBA games run natively on the DS's ARM9?

Rumor: Downloadable Game Boy and GBA games as DSiWare

And it's useless except for the DSi's advertised purposes of picture viewing, music playing, and increasing the cache on the web browser. Processor speed is the bottleneck here, not RAM.

Rumor: Downloadable Game Boy and GBA games as DSiWare

No, it only has an ARM 11 which now also handles the stuff ARM 7 used to do in the DS phat and lite.

Rumor: Downloadable Game Boy and GBA games as DSiWare

Impossible. The DSi completely lacks the ARM7 (GBA) processor, and it still isn't powerful enough to emulate it properly. Original GB games would be possible, but I guess the whole rumor's debunked now...

Fan brings 'Link's Awakening' into the world of 3D

Mar 18th 2009 7:35PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't put a stop to this. I'm pretty sure they've shot down similar projects before. Anyway, looks sweet; can't wait to give it a try. It would rock even more if it was for the DS, though.

Dead Space Extraction 'about as long' as original

"The PS2 was a second generation console"
