Okay. it was an error of judgement, but firing Robert is an overreaction.
It was fun to read people's ideas and yes it snowballed, but I still had fun reading the comments. I'm sure a lot of guys here will agree, except for the lunatic fringe who started demanding a lynching.
I doubt what I'm saying will make a difference, but everyone makes mistakes........ give Robert a chance.

I mentioned in the original "news coming" thread that whatever it is had better be extremely good. Not that it would really make a difference in the grand scheme of things, but for credibility's sake.
The news was good, true. I still dont understand why there would be an NDA on this. It certainly did not need a pre-post of that sort.
I quess it's just common sense to take all news from anywhere with pinches of salt.

there's a saying I love. "There are none as blind as those who dont want to see". AK is saying, and I'm sure you get this, that even if the PS3 can Output 1080 P over component, no TV's can recieve it, SO IT IS IRRELEVANT.

A big part of why PS is so popular is because of the ease of piracy for its games especially in places like countries where £40 is lot of money I'm thinking of Africa and South America. It's more than most people's salary for 2 months and you'd be Mad or extremely rich to pay that for a game.
The price point that Sony has chosen has effectively put them out of reach of plenty of people.This will limit their install base and reduce the amount of 3rd party support they will recieve.
Blu-Ray will be difficult to pirate as well so no pirated games will be available.
As to the backwards compatibility argument. People will not buy a ps3 to play ps2 and ps1 games. They have already got PS2s.
I think Nintendo got it right this time. Hopefully Sony will learn some humility and cut out the crap talk. Nintendo has learn their lessons from their own past stupidity
