I really don't understand all the flack that this is getting. is HTML5 the current standard in video delivery? no. are there non-youtube videos on the internet that i want to watch while on the go? yes!
and of course you'd be able to turn it off in Android, just like there's a checkbox for JavaScript.
oh, come on people. did anyone really expect the PSPgo to be meant as a definite upgrade for all previous PSP owners? Sony has consistently talked about how UMD is not dying (yet) and how they will support the 3000. the PSPgo is a smaller, pricier, form factor designed for those who don't already have a PSP. it is priced higher due to Sony's idea that they're now competing with the iPod Touch. they want to sell a HDD based media player that can play games. granted, paying more for a DL than a physical copy is still a rather awful side effect, but the actual hardware aspect isn't all "fail fail virtual boy!".
keep your 3000. let people like me buy a pspgo instead of an ipod touch because it's smaller (can fit in my pocket), will handle my music/movie needs, and will play games a hell of a lot better than a touchscreeen with one button.
I'm still not sure why the pspgo gets so much hate from the gadget-aware. my opinion of it does change based on what i'm comparing it to (is it just going to cannibalize the regular psps or actually compete against the ipod touch?), but it seems to fit into a perfect niche for me.
I already carry a perfectly capable (non-apple) smartphone but want more gaming options than the rather awful assortment found in the android market. i don't need the redundancy of all the productivity & communication apps found in the apple app store, but i would like a more dedicated media/gaming device. enter the pspgo with it's smaller size (there's no way i could carry a psp + 4 or so games without a backpack) along with, lets say, 10gb left over after the games for my music/videos for the day/week. that ALMOST seems worth the premium.
