Prince of Persia producer says game's risks have gone unappreciated

Jan 5th 2009 2:11PM (Joystiq)
The Prince of Persia is a game that is to be enjoy for its simplicity and beauty. Stop worrying about not dieing or that its to simply, its a game that a gamer, hardcore or not, can sit down and enjoy. Its beautiful to look especially after you heal the pure grounds and when your moving through the environment its a wonderment that is unseen in a lot of games.

Also I think PoP is a great "gate way game" for certain people, like girlfriends and parents to get into. Its gives them a something that isn't so intimidating like Gears of War 2 or Fallout 3. If your dieing all the time because you can't make a jump can be frustrating.

My point is that it can expand the industry which is good for all of us. And as for a virtual pats-on-the-back to whole heartily give one.

Are you a mid-core gamer?

Feb 6th 2008 9:49AM (Joystiq)
Definitely a mid-core gamer. I have had at least one or two console per generation starting with the Atari 5200 and I go through about 80% of most games I really have to push my self to finish one. I talk, read and play video games but I am not a hardcore gamer. Nice to see others out there.

I have to say that these retrospective are excellent. I still can't get the smile off my face. All the Zelda games are awesome and seeing them again is great. I hope you decide to do this with over games.
