WRUP: too many to decide edition

Mar 23rd 2007 11:21AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I *might* play Tiger Woods '07. But so far...it's been more frustrating than real golf. It's better than Pangya and Wii Sports golf though. Rather than getting pissed that the backswing is never read on time, I'll probably just go buy a new set of clubs and hit the links instead.

I highly doubt there will be any Wii playing this weekend...it'll be God of War 2, Halo 2, and Xbox 360 games. Maybe I'll squeeze in a couple rounds of bowling ;). Samus...where art thou?

Yikes...that looks awful.

Everyone says gameplay over graphics...which works well for Wii Sports, but fails miserably for all our familiar franchises. I can barely stand playing the ugly PS2 Tiger Woods (to humor my dual-shock-accustomed room mate) after playing the Xbox 360 version.

Zelda looked terrible after getting used to playing the other two consoles. But judging from the last few Zelda games, it's beautiful in comparison...so maybe people fooled themselves?

Games like Super Swing Golf and Warioware are perfectly acceptable graphically...but they are in the Wii context. Even Mario games can get away with looking cartoonish, so they won't have a problem.

At least Metroid Prime 3 is bound to look good.

480p isn't high definition....It's progressive standard definition or "enhanced definition".

The Wii may have a few fun games, but they will always be ugly in comparison. Like the PS3, there is no scaler in the Wii, so you won't see any action there.

If gameplay was all that mattered, I would have enjoyed FFXII. But it lacked solid story and graphics...leaving much to be desired.

I hope they ramp up production big time. There's an empty spot between my PS3 and my 360. It needs to be filled ASAP.

Wii is in-store this Sunday, according to circulars from the future

I'm surprised it's this difficult to get one. Since it's just a modified Gamecube, you'd think they wouldn't have a problem meeting demand by now. I think they are pulling the supply and demand trick.

I can't find one anywhere, but I'm not camping to get one. I'm actually getting tired of asking if places have it in stocking knowing the answer.

I bought a PS3 yesterday, and have decided that Sony elitists are insane. It's one of the most aggravating devices I've ever used, and it's way too complicated for the average consumer. Is it worth $600? Not on your life. Sure, it's capable of plenty, but it's more work than play with almost no payoff.

No wonder the Wii is going own the next couple of years. I just pray that it won't completely overshadow the other two, because we need powerful systems in the mix. Motion control is a great idea, but it alone can't captivate us for long.

"Mainly I'm just waiting to play Zelda as I want to be able to play that game in all it's 480p widescreen glory."

eek...(thinks of playing PS2 on 51" in 480p...jaggie HELL).

VC poll: what games do you want to see more of?

Genesis, all the way. It had some great games that Nintendo-fans missed. To me, the SNES was Mario Kart, Super Metroid, MK2, and SMW. Genesis was everything else.

TG16 is okay, but SNES is more entertaining. N64 can go away, not to be missed.

As an Anti-Sony person (not just PS3, but almost everything they produce), I have to say that his comment isn't really that outlandish for once.

Is what he said not the truth? Sure, the PS3 is way too expensive, but it is a substantial upgrade from the PS2 compared to the Wii vs 'cube.

What is more ludicrous is that he is suggestion that Sony ALWAYS pushes the envelope. Gauging from the PS2's "real time" performance (no matrix, no toy story, no worthwhile online, no useful hard drive), I'd say the Xbox smashed it in the hardware department. Too bad the PS2's popularity ruined its chances.

Not that your comment about MGS4 isn't off base either. On the other hand, the only reason I'll buy a Wii is for Metroid Prime 3. Not to mention I have to find one first.

Wii're in demand

Dec 14th 2006 5:11PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
It's not a typo. "Wii" is one search and "Nintendo Wii" is a different search. Just like people don't know whether it's Blu-ray, bluray, or Blue Ray.
