Win a copy of God of War: Chains of Olympus!

I just bought a PSP Slim to use for non-homebrew and television playing. (read: Crisis Core). More games would be fantastic.

What if the next PSP doesn't support UMD?

In any case, UMD has to go. now. far away. From here.

Why not built in rumble on a portable?

Jan 10th 2007 11:27AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Actually, besides technical issues (there's plenty) and Sony's fear of further emptying their pocketbook, there is a bigger issue:

Portable games aren't meant to offer the same type of immersion as a full fledged console. The screen is small, there's no surround sound, no high definition, and the games are usually shorter.

As for rumble in the DS...it's more of a buzz than rumble. Absolutely worthless on a portable, especially if it's not dual motors.

iPhone and Zune become new competitors

Jan 9th 2007 5:48PM (Joystiq Playstation)
"The PSP at $200 (not including memory) seems like a bargain compared to this device. "

A PSP with an 8GB card would be $500-550 without phone features or a touch screen or a slim size.

Saying the $200 PSP is a bargain without memory might as well be saying that the $300 hard-drive-less 360 Core system is a bargain. Which it isn't.

I don't think the PSP has anything to worry about. These exclusive phone deals are a bit ridiculous. I'm doubtful people will drop the $200 to get out of their current provider's contracts just to get this phone.

And the Zune is well...an overpriced audio/video device, just like the iPod.

Better on PSP

"Now I don't want to enrage Killzone fans, but the PS2 incarnation was billed as a Halo killer and it was far from it."

You do NOT need to apologize for this. Killzone is a joke. Everyone I've let play it next to Halo hated it. I bought it out of curiousity, and it was a waste of $12. If you want to fight the same three horribly animated enemies that constantly yell a small handful of phrases for what seems like an eternity, then you'll love PS2 Killzone.

I don't know about Liberation. I've not played it yet. I refuse to spend more than $15 on a PSP game.

New Burnout is a PS2 and PSP exclusive

Dec 8th 2006 4:39PM (Joystiq Playstation)
"The ds version was the suck,"

I fully agree; the PSP version was much better, albeit still not feeling of a proper Burnout game. Hopefully this new iteration makes Burning out on the go fun.

New Burnout is a PS2 and PSP exclusive

Yuck...Burnout was one of those games that just played and looked better on the Xbox.

I'd get it for the PSP though.

Dual analog mod, now 95% less scary

Dec 7th 2006 1:42PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I don't agree. I think it would be much better than using the buttons or plastering a circle (or dpad) over the buttons as previously done. The looks alone would be worth if if a 2nd analog was so-desired. It's really a comfort issue here.

Many mods have nothing to do with practicality or worthwhile-ness. It's a matter of being able to do it, and/or make it do what you want. If other people appreciate it, great. Notice he said it was totally worth it (for him).

I know I'm willing to do it. And I'll probably try the same thing on the DS for fun.
