@DekuTree I'll take that as a compliment actually. - Correct me if I'm wrong, but the majority of these domain names reference casual games or plastic add-ons aimed at casual audiences, do they not? Wiimusicu? Wiifitu? WiiPlayu? Wiipartyu? WiiBalanceBoardu? Wiizapperu? rhythmheavenwii.com? rhythmparadisewii.com?
I'd like to see Nintendo have a system that truly was aimed at the core gamer, but I just get the feeling that while they're talking about the core gamer, they're actually pushing a product aimed at the casual market. Only time will tell...
@Raffi256 Because on release they included a hard drive and current technology that wasn't already optimized for a small form factor and thus it needed to be cooled with heatsinks and large fans (although how well that cooling worked, is up for debate).
Touch screen weapons and coffee mug camo!?!?! I've been waiting for that in Snake Eater forever!!!! Forget the collection, you have to use a controller to equip the weapons and then wear regular camo... That's so 2004. $40 sold!!
This isn't surprising at all: They stated earlier this year they would be unveiling the new console at E3. It was the most hyped, most anticipated reveal of the show.
What we got is a look at the controller, 5 tech demos, video of potential games on other systems and a generic tech-sheet. Investors wanted to see a full-blown console reveal that included actual games, detailed specs, marketing strategies and release dates. That didn't happen and this is the result.
In the scheme of things 5% is nothing and no one is going to lose sleep over it. It just reflects that from a business standpoint, Nintendo didn't live up to the hype yesterday.

Wii U won't have DVD or Blu-ray playback, will include social media functionality
Jun 15th 2011 1:19PM (Joystiq)Where was I complaining about any of that? - I put out a list of what we currently know about the system and then estimated a price point.
Defensive much?
