you can chose to ignore the dog. he even mentioned the occasional dog minigame aswell. However he did clearly state that you could chose to ignore your dog and that the game would recognize that and tailor it self to your decision to ignore it. however without a map then you will be with out a guide.

obviously you dont read much joustiq or pay any attention. however its joystiq's style to pick a range of views (they do this with all the reviews) not as you say to make the game look worse, but they do this to show a wider range of views. they just convey the information that is out there, and let the reader decide. thats what these forums are for. not for you to yell and complain and me to explain it to you rationally. we are suppose to read the article and discuss the content.
