"Is it that John Hodgman guy?? He's following me everywhere!"

Battlestar movie hinges on original creator

Jun 11th 2007 1:59PM (AOL TV)
A BSG movie would do much better than Serenity... Serenity was so obscure that most people haven't heard of it... BSG is marketed cross-network, in magazines, hell, on Yahoo's front page itself. Couple that with shots of Six and you've got the sex appeal for the broader audience.

BSG would do a lot better if NBC put it on their network instead of pigeonholing it on SciFi, a network that most people think of as a network filled with Star Trek, Sliders and Twilight Zone.

All I know is, I can't get enough of Bear McCreary's soundtracks. Anything that gets some more BSG music love is good for me!

Currently unused component found in Wiimote

Funny how they spent the money on a chip that's not being used but attempted to justify their lackluster graphics and lack of HD with "it's not about the graphics, it's about the [somewhat crippled] experience."

Building a Linux-like packaging system for Windows

May 29th 2007 5:26PM (Download Squad)
I've thought about this for a long time, especially when it comes to IE add-ons. Why aren't there more?

Honestly, I believe the answer is the "community" wants to do everything possible to (or would rather) see MS fall flat on its face -- and hard, so they'll opt to make extensions for Firefox over IE, packages for *nix over Windows, etc.

It's really a shame.

BTW, one of the best almost-does-everything-or-will-soon free add-ons for IE is one you've already covered, but is a great example... IE7Pro.

Either way, that GUI-based single-point repository access to open source programs for Windows would be awesome.

Smallville: Phantom (season finale)

May 18th 2007 12:58AM (AOL TV)
Lana's jeep blowing up/truck was either a tip-off to Arnold's "Eraser" ending, or inspired. It's very Eraser-like.

Overall I thought this finale was as tense as the ending of the 3rd season where Lex was poisoned, Lionel is in prison, the Sullivan's safe-house blowing up, the barn, the the the the the... yeah, it was like that cliffhanger.

The fight scene was great, the emergence of Bizarro, the twists/who-on-earth/Smallville-will-die?! I'm really torn, I was certain it was Chloe before the finale, now I'm not sure.

Lara Croft to celebrate anniversary on the Wii? [update 1]

May 14th 2007 8:36PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Sorry to rain on the Wii (I say this as I'm happily eyeing my Wii next to my HDTV), but any Tomb Raider beyond Legend will look absolutely terrible on the Wii. :(

Survivor Fiji: You've Got A Puzzled Look (season finale)

Also, making the point (?) the one woman tried to make about Cassandra's watershoes was absolutely ridiculous. Grandstanding only makes you look like a bigger fool than your opponent.

Survivor Fiji: You've Got A Puzzled Look (season finale)

May 14th 2007 12:16AM (AOL TV)
I'll admit I've only seen two episodes this season, with the finale being the second...

I'm not certain of his name, but I believe it was Alex (?) that kept telling Cassandra to "stop talking" sounded like a preschool child screaming for the other kid to "gimme"... how infantile! I was getting aggravated during that whole 15-second exchange and hit the 30-second skip on my remote. I'm sorry, but nobody needs to hear that.

Based off of what I've seen, Yau-Man played the game extremely well and kept his moral values... Dreamz on the other hand, Boo had every right to call him on what he did and how poorly of a Christian example he was making, if he was even trying. It'll catch up with Dreamz in one way or another.

Family Guy: No Chris Left Behind

I didn't mind the chicken fight scene as much as you did, though I will agree it went on a *bit* too long, but a short scene wouldn't have worked either. The sheer absurdity of the entire fight made it entertaining enough to not look at the time.

Is it me, or does that mask look like the one Marlon and Damon Wayans used in White Chicks... that's f'in creepy all by itself, LOL!
