Bioshock Tuesday: win an Xbox 360 and a copy of Bioshock

Sep 27th 2006 11:08AM (Joystiq)But it doesn't need to be. Painting works fine with the DualShock. A sequel on the Wii would be fantastic indeed, though.
Personally, I wish it had come out for the GC, for one reason only: Loading times. They're pretty long, and that's really the only flaw of the game.
Metareview - Okami (PS2)
Sep 27th 2006 11:00AM (Joystiq)I don't think it's too easy. Enemies probably won't kill you, but the boss fights are all pretty challenging, and some of the puzzles (final Blockhead, grrr) are controller-throwing hard.
Overall, it's very deserving of the high scores. Beautiful graphics, tight and fluid gameplay, and epic in length. It ranks among the Zelda games in fantastic action/adventures.
Additionally, I agree that this bodes very well for Wii games. It proves that a weak system can easily compete against stronger ones with a great artstyle. I haven't seen anything next-gen that looks as good as this.

Sep 2nd 2006 11:26AM (Joystiq)PSP price to drop to $149 this holiday season?
Aug 11th 2006 10:27PM (Joystiq)If the rumor turns out to be true, I might even be persuaded to pick a PSP up. What with the PS1 games (Symphony of the Night!) and games like Loco Roco and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, it wouldn't be too bad an option. Unfortunately, there is a ton of stuff I'll have to buy in the last quarter (Wii, Z:TP, Okami, etc.), and the PSP might end up getting bumped out of my queue, price drop or no. I'll see how my wallet goes.
Finally, Ethan and ipodfanboy are far too optimistic about the PSP's future. It's worthwhile noticing that all of the things Ethan mentions to make the PSP "hot" except Killzone and Loco Roco are sequels to games that didn't end up selling the PSP so well. And considering they are a sequel to a mediocre PS2 shooter and oddball (but awesome, true) Japanese game, respectively, I wouldn't count on either being a killer app. The system needs more than a price drop to catch fire. What the PSP needs is the same thing that made PS2 a success: an overwhelming third-party majority, so that Nintendo's games can't keep up. Unfortunately, with news like EA's just today, they may not ever get it.

Aug 7th 2006 2:05PM (Joystiq)However, I am interested in that art over the post; it's the best renditions of Soma & co. I've seen. Who drew that? It's not overly feminine (Aria's art) or generic anime (Dawn's)!

Aug 2nd 2006 12:44PM (Joystiq)"Kiddie," on the other hand, pisses me off. Katamari Damacy, to use an example, contains no violence, and brightly colored, lego-like graphics. Am I to stop rolling up crap in balls just because it lacks explosions? For shame.
