Brenna - I couldn't disagree with you more. I've found Savannah to be a pretty tolerant and open-minded place (with some exceptions), and while there are pockets of "good ole boy's" (as there are everywhere), there are also many diverse, progressive and community minded folks. It sounds like you've had a bad experience (as well as an axe to grind), which is unfortunate.
It seems like a pretty ballsy move by a non-profit if you ask me. I really hope its successful. I've met a couple of the people at Creative Coast and they seem to be bright and well intentioned, if not savvy.
P.S. The building is not near the sewage plant. I've been there. It's next to the Westin, the Trade Center and directly across the Savannah River from City Hall.
