If you are using a shared cache, the overhead of taking looks to keep the cache in sync increases as the number of cores increases.

You may be able to enable aero manually. On some slower computers windows 7 will not enable aero by default. Just go to the personalization and see if you can enable aero.

There is an interesting theory that apple planned to release 4gb and 8gb nanos only. When the rumors of zune 16 and zune 8 start hitting the web, apple was forced to change their plans.

This also explains why 16gb nanos haven't shipped yet.
