Rational gamers choose subsidized hardware, all else equal [update 2]

Sep 14th 2006 8:37PM (Joystiq)
Yes, a gamer who wants the "best" hardware for his buck should get the most subsidized hardware. I am not one of those gamers. I believe in getting the most fun for my buck, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Poll: What classic games do you want on the Wii?

Sep 11th 2006 2:08AM (Joystiq)
I want Phantasy Star 4, give me that and I will be content.

Chrono Trigger would also be cool though.

Honestly, this week was a little lackluster. As much as I hate Sony, after a certain point the PS3-bashing just ceases to be funny.

30: The VC games will likely be encrypted and/or digitally signed in such a way that breaking the DRM would be extremely difficult. It wouldn't be like twiddling a couple of bits in the header.

6: Uhh, no thanks. The thing I hate most about so many blogs is that they automatically assume I want several dozen windows clogging up my screen. If I want it in a new window, I'll do it myself!

"Violent Pac-Man" researcher responds

BULLSH*T: That one's mine. It came to me when I read how she claims 'every industry thinks it's the scapegoat of politicians...' as if that negates the reality of games being made scapegoat by the lazy parents and those who would hold, or keep, their government jobs by regulating our lives.

That buzzword applies equally to your own post. I'm sorry, but she said herself:
This is not a question that I have researched so I'm not sure how to answer it.

She next gives her general feeling about industries in general. She's not saying anything specifically about the video game industry in that answer!

35: "What the hell is up with all these anti joystiq comments (. . .)".

It's there aren't that many actually, when you take into account it's mostly one guy posting them all (five of them are from the same user).

Colorblind gaming or: Table Tennis is impossibly hard!

Jul 30th 2006 2:21PM (Joystiq)
I seem to remember that in Starcraft: Brood Wars they changed one of the team colours from teal to dark green; I'd heard that was for people who were colourblind. Reading this, though, I'm not sure how much that would have helped.

Nuklear Power was pure gold this time.

4: Little Gamers would have been funnier if I hadn't read the exact same thing a day earlier:
