Rumor Mill: Mac Pro in new enclosure at WWDC

I imagine the enclosure will be smaller, considering that the 9-fan liquid cooling system may be overkill for the intel chips.

Apple posts new ads

Apple may have dropped the ball in having the cooler cultural figure (hodgman) portray the PC....

New Super Mario boxart

loban, go order a ds lite online. you'll probably have it in 3 weeks to a month - maybe even less. ninty's releasing the coloured versions on the 11th, and re-shipping the white around the 16th. if you want one that badly, there's no reason to wait for a north american launch.

DS Lite comparison pics

The battery life is fantastic! (The following quoted from game-addicts.com):

The battery life of the DS Lite has also received a makeover. There are four different levels of luminosity in all. On its lowest setting, the DS Lite can run for 15 to 19 hours before requiring a recharge. On higher level settings, the battery life is reduced; 10 to 15 hours on it’s second dimmest, 7 to 11 hours on its third level, and 5 to 8 hours on the maximum level of luminosity. And when the battery does need to be recharged, DS Lite owners will be pleased to find that a full recharge takes just three hours, a full hour less than the DS.

POLL: Are you going to buy a DS Lite?

Yeah, maybe if the weight came down more than 20% for the redesign I'd think about replacing my beloved 1st gen. I dunno, the lite just looks kind of cheap, like shoddy clamshell handhelds from the 80s. and the casemod crowd will def. stick to the old-school form factor of the 1st gen, that famicom mod is a good example.

i dunno, i think there should be a place for chunky design. when it's open, the 1st gen is just plain beautiful.

Metroid Prime: Hunters beta test feedback

well sure the wifi multiplayer looks very exciting, and i'll really enjoy it when it arrives - but metroid is all about lonely exploration, as has been said many times, and the game simply won't feel like a complete entry in the series without a robust single-player. it will rather feel like a peripheral (but strong) series sidebar, much like metroid pinball. to quote ign re ikaruga: my frothing demand for this game increases daily.

Current-gen console logos; take your pick

Feb 3rd 2006 9:26AM (Joystiq)
I'm leaning GC. The xbox logo looks dated (maybe it's the green?), although there was a time that it was totally brill. The GC logo is timeless and pretty much perfect.

In the spirit of fairness, however, this particular reproduction of the ps2 logo looks like crap.
