ScummVM ported to Wii and Gamecube

Apr 10th 2007 2:23PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Is it possible to load this from a SD card using the built-in SD card adapter if your Wii allows GC homebrew? (*cough* *cough* with wiikey *cough* *cough*)

Wiimote as WoW controller

Dec 20th 2006 9:36AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Wow! A few more days, and there probably will be a convenient way to do all this, and more. Control all your PC games with the Wii remote. It should even be rather easy to create your own Wiimote game for the PC.

And with that wireless sensor bar (or two candles), you can play without your Wii next to your PC. This is really promising! So early in the lifecycle of this console, and such great homebrew things already!

Ubisoft's steering wheel, boxed

Oct 31st 2006 3:46PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
$20,- for a piece of plastic?! Come on! 'Reasonable' they call that! OK, it isnt't much compared to real (computer) steering wheels, but this thingy costs almost nothing to make.

The good thing is, every dumbhead can produce such a steering wheel, so there will be a cheapier one pretty fast (I hope).

All your (German) questions answered

@ my earlier comment: A comment from author of the article says that the guys at the Games Convention said the GC build was the build from E3 with updated graphics, but no updated enemy AI and controls.

The part about Red Steel also notes you can manually adjust the sensivity of the controller.

I don't know if I have to believe this, isn't it just speculation? The GC06 trailer showed pre-determined swordplay, and this Dutch article also notes that the swordplay is still pre-determined, but they have refined it. So, if you make a vertical slash, it makes a vertical slash at that point, and to block, you have to hold the controller sidewards at the right point. But the doesn't seem to be real direct-input sword fighting in it yet.

Timesplitters devs think Wii is underpowered?

Aug 2nd 2006 2:11PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The Wii can use the graphics engine of the Xbox/PS2 versions of big multi-platform games now, but in the future, those versions will not be made. This undoes the plus of the Wii that it has low devopment costs; creating an entirely new engine for one platform is much more expensive than creating an higher-end engine that can be ported.

The engine, the basics of the Xbox360/PS3 will just be to heavy to be downgraded and ported to the Wii, thus resulting in higher development costs for the Wii. Sad, but true.

I apologize for my bad English.
