Conspiracy to publish Wii budget titles in the U.S.

Jun 28th 2007 3:14PM (Joystiq)
wait some use that as reason for bashing the wii ? guess they missed that _all_ of them are going to be released _on the PS2_ as well

Dragon Quest IX announced as DS exclusive

as a turnbased RPG i welcome the chance to real time and also welcome the chance to online coop.. playing through rpgs alone is only half as fun and playing alone through turn based rpgs with random battles is kinda like a sleeping pill

Wii gets nearly double PS3's attach rate in Japan

Dec 5th 2006 10:01AM (Joystiq)
@10
and the 360 has been out out ... 2 days right ?

let's face it: attachment rates only make sense if you compare products which are available for the same amount of time ;)

(the wii outsold the 360 + ps3 in japan on it's launch day .. so much for that)

Wiimote vs. Sixaxis, Round 1: Downhill Jam vs. Project 8

@34

i second that ... 10 seconds into the video i though "boy i just hope judas priest will actually be in both games" and stopped caring about the actual gameplay

Unlikely Revolution Interface #14: der Nintendo RS

7: actually "Jetzt spielen " _is_ correct ... judging from reading it i don't see any problems from translation as a native speaker (but don't quote me on it)

"Willkommen zur? sounds cheesier in german than "Welcome back" in english but this has problem elsewhere

Moore confirms the end (of the Xbox 360 shortage) is nigh

hmm 4-6 weeks ? how about "since 2 weeks " (at least here in austria).. i was quite surprised to see 19 premium boxes piled up in a store last week with being the 2nd second shipment since launch in december
i thought they would sell faster .. looks like interest/hype has already cooled down.. perhaps people are waiting for better games or price drops since i didn't see any core packages

that aside i don't see any further ads for it neither in TV or from retailers

The best time to buy video games

Jan 23rd 2006 4:12PM (Joystiq)
yeah looking around can save you lots of money... 5 bucks here 5 bucks there etc. it all adds up .. got my gamecube 10 bucks under the msrp, same with 2nd and 3rd controller or the memory card

that aside the gamecube end of cycle seems to be in full frenzy.. just bought 6 GC games for 75 bucks with an average rating of around 9.1 (IGN scores) in the last two weeks (soulcalibur 2, super monkey ball 2, timesplitters 2, f zero GX, rayman 3 and star fox adventures)
the week before i bought some game magazine with silent storm sentinels which is some real good single player experience for 5 bucks

Revolution to affect third-party accessories

Jan 22nd 2006 5:55AM (Joystiq)
yeah same here...i'm sticking with original ones because in the past they were really bad.. and i'm not really interested in gambling "perhaps the controller is good or perhaps not"

Nintendo shares rise on 'less than $300' statement

Jan 20th 2006 7:27AM (Joystiq)
well the controller tech is based on bluetooth as far as i heard so i doubt the tech is really expensive.. after all they are making millions of them so the price will drop through that alone

that aside it will have wireless networking and flash memory (for save games) included so i think 200 is quite a good deal since you don't have to buy overpriced memory cards or w-lan adapters

A controller improvement we'd like to see

Jan 18th 2006 7:04AM (Joystiq)
well wouldn't a card reading accesory being easier and very likely cheaper ? make a card for your kids and one for yourself and your done..

or even better: i'm pretty sure it could be accomplished even with using USB or memory card like accessories which you can put on your key-ring ... such a solution is actually a lot cheaper and easier to do without buying expensive scanners.. just a software update and issuing a small cheap memory card
but i guess that solution is too obvious ;)

(i hate the idea of private cooperations having my fingerprints)
