Modern Warfare 2 teaser video shows off first game footage, promises 'world premiere' May 24
May 11th 2009 2:57AM (Joystiq)Napoleon tried to march his armies across Russia to invade Moscow, and he failed because the majority of his troops didn't survive the long trip across the harsh terrain of Russia before he decided to turn back.

In war, history literally tends to repeat itself. Even when you're talking time differences of years, decades, or centuries, the essential backbone of war never changes. The weaponry may advance, sure, which may lead to ways to kill more people with less effort, but the backbone is still there.
Modern Warfare 2 teaser video shows off first game footage, promises 'world premiere' May 24
May 11th 2009 1:49AM (Joystiq)I think what maybe people fail to realize is that often war is essentially always the same. Even with weapons advancing and environments changing, much of the same tactics still apply.
Because CoD has always been about realistic warfare, it doesn't seem unreasonable that you might see the same things again, such as having to retreat across the area or have to hold off the enemy until reinforcements arrive. That's just how war is, whether we're talking war today, war in WWII, or even war back in medieval times. The same tactics will be seen again and again, because that's just how real war is. History repeats itself.
Dead Space 2 development reconfirmed by LinkedIn profile
May 10th 2009 2:46AM (Joystiq)After a while, many of the missions just seemed to become a little monotonous and repetitive, some originality to the various missions would have helped shape the game better.
However, that said, I still enjoyed Dead Space a lot, because it was still something different and was far better than RE5. And if they can break the eventual monotony that somewhat settled in from the first game with a more diverse and varied structure in the 2nd game, then I will be a very happy camper.
After the let-down that was RE5, I am more than willing to look forward to Dead Space 2, because Dead Space was still one of my favorite games from this past year.

Terminator Salvation video has gameplay
Apr 21st 2009 12:07AM (Joystiq)Thanks to college courses, I'm behind in my completion to-do list:
1. Dead Space (on higher difficulties)
2. Crackdown (recently bought a cheap copy, not too bad for sandbox play)
3. Condemned (borrowed it from a friend months ago, still haven't had time to touch it)
4. Fallout 3 (have only logged about 2 hrs, waiting til summer to really get my fix caz I know I'm not going to want to set it down again til I'm done)
Once I finish those though.... Lol
