Well, yeah, cost is always an issue. But really, that's the case with the consoles themselves. The Wii hasn't just sold buckets because of the control scheme, but also because of the low entry bar of cost. And the PS2 still outsells all of the current gen consoles. But as tech improves, cost goes down. What makes Natal exciting (at least for me), isn't that it'll makes games even more accessible than the Wii, because you're right, it'll probably cost more. It's what it can actually do for the medium of gaming from an innovation perspective. Some really amazing potential.

This seems pretty simple to me. The Natal camera can do EVERYTHING the Sony Motion Controller can, without any device in your hands. Replace the controller with wooden dowels, and it's the SAME THING. Then add in FULL body tracking, voice and facial recognition, and you're way beyond the Sony demo.


And to everyone comparing Natal to the Playstation Eye: it's world's beyond. It has stereoscopic tracking, infrared tracking (meaning it tracks without any light source), and a processor built into the device. It can track 48 joints simultaneously. The microphone can tell the difference between you, your friends and voices coming from the game, and can thus take commands from only those it should be.


And again, even without all the extras, its at LEAST as capable as Wii MotionPlus and the Sony Motion Controller. How is there any contest, here?

Cause, you know, the only reason it's so sparse is because the designer just couldn't think up anything to fill it with...
