I too just called into Sony and received no resolution from customer service. Here's their rationale:

It's the fourth of July in Japan. That's right - we should have known that the blog post made by the Senior Director of the Playstation Network at Sony Computer Entertainment of AMERICA was really referencing Japanese dates.

In light of the blog post's location on the US site and being authored by this person, I feel this is unreasonable.

"Q: How long do I have to get into the PlayStation Store and receive my content for Welcome Back?
A: Access to the Welcome Back content will be expiring on July 3. Once this date has passed, the Welcome Back section in the PlayStation Store will be removed."

The reason is cost. Nintendo wants to maintain as high profit margins as they can while providing a bare minimum of functionality in their products.

It may make more sense in the Wii U controllers to drive expenses downwards, but not for a premium $250 portable system. I can assure you there are better screens available that are perfectly capable of doing what Nintendo needs - they're just not at dirt cheap price points yet.

NiGHTS Into Dreams is my favorite Sega game by far. There have been many recent successes, but none have impacted me as much as NiGHTS did.

Unfortunately, I also feel this is the case. There are so many people making valid complaints about the game (see PC version's hacked multiplayer), but Visceral responds to a "Dog Ate My Dead Space" comment?

What's next? A marketing campaign about how our moms hate Dead Space? Oh wait...

Peter Lewin's class on the Regulation of Business was a highlight of my college career!

I got a bunch of clothes, a fleece throw, a flashlight, a $25 iTunes giftcard, and a flash drive.

An Xbox would definitely improve this Christmas haul.

I remember the original Halo multiplayer would randomly assign names to people who played without creating profiles... I was once assigned the name "The Bear" for a 4 hour gaming-fest. Since there were other random players as well, we couldn't figure out who was who in-game.

After each time I killed a particular person, he would shout, "WHO IS THE BEAR?!" His aggravation kept building until an actual bear crashed the window, mauling him in one sweep.

Alright - maybe the story was embellished a bit.

The worst bug I've seen had to be the Castle Crasher multiplayer glitch. It would erase your hard earned progress just by entering a game.

I'm sure we'll see it in 13 months, 3 days, 7 hours, and 1 second.
