They will probably just end up phasing out the Core system if they decide to price drop. They are not going to be selling a $200 system after only a little over a year of being on the market. The core is really hurting them as far as being able to technically compete with Sony. No HDD makes it hard for developers to implement some features that would normally be very doable with the PS3.
Mr Khan, No one has (seriously) viewed Nintendo as "Kiddie" since the early Cube days. anyone who was still refering to them as such is generally seen as someone as a fanboy and ignorant. They cater to ALL ages. Kiddie, would imply they only cater to kids, and last time I checked DS and WII had MAJOR appeal to ALL ages, esp the more mature crowds.
LOL, I have this game, in fact I'm looking at the cd case now. I was a huge PR fan back in the day, and I have all of season 1 and 2 on tape and my dad even taped some of the shows for me before leaving for school. Wow....Can't believe I actually thought the game was high tech back then. It was nothing more than watching the show (heavily edited and choppped at that) with some button inputs...LOL Good times.
vidguy, some people here just don't have the capacity to think outside of "Oh Nintendo can't be this popular, they are fasely inducing this demand by restricting supply".
Unfortunately, for some who wish to live in denial, this is their reality. Even going so far as to igonre the fact that they are just obliterating the competiton in terms of monthly worldwide units produced, shipped and sold. The numbers don't lie.
Nintendo is producing, shipping, and selling roughly 1 million untis a month, Something MS and Sony WISH they could do. They are NOT going to increase productions as that would entail costs for more workers, equipment and money in general needed to run a production facility. If they were to do this, if/when demand drops they now suddely have a useless facility. This would cost them more money than they would like to spend (or lose depending on your view).
If Nintedo stays on course 1 mil a month they would easily take over 360 sales by late 2007 early 2008. I'm sure they could live with that.
Hell yeah, oh and Ludwig, why did you delete my last post about you and the RE:UC game? Seemed kinda pety.....anyways, this is great news. Sonic Rush was/is awesome. I hope they have the same kinda music.
