I think that any wii game that is going to change gaming is going to come with a learning curve, we have to go beyond being passive gamers and step out of the box to challenge ourselves when developers offer new ways to play - rather than offer us simple button mashing and the same gameplay we all know.

i was signed up for the email and got no headsup. the only thing i've gotten is tons of spam about their new other crap. nothing even pertaining to the Wii. Seems they just hooked people up for their normal newsletter and didn't deliver for a heads up.

oh well.

it doesnt really matter in the end if you are happy with the system you have right? goes back to the old saying "if everyone jumped off a bridge would you?"

i will buy a Wii, not matter how successful or unsuccessfuul it is. in my eyes, as stated in the previous post, the Wii is the only next gen to me.

everyone in my work office has one. but we're small so its like 4-5 people.

Just got the offical email from gamestop... said to call your local store and ask about availability...

"extremely limited supply" - really? didnt nintendo just announce even MORE units available at launch now.... and still 'extremely limited' ? gamestop is jipping everyone

I think its a pretty smart marketing thing that nintedo has been doing with the Wii. There has been giveaways by ellen, pringles, 7-11, and who knows who else. Imagine all the grocery stores that sell pringles and think of all the people who will see that, and then all the people who will see TV ads, then all the people who will see ads in magazines and what not. It's an interesting strategy that extends the "fun for everyone" concept that they've been after.

I think whats important to remember with this continous and never ending dialog / argument is that in past generations consoles that pushed their graphics engine and the top of priorites, we waiting to see the engine at launch then wait for it to be pushed to its limits in the future of its lifespan. So in a system like the wii, whos focus is on gameplay / controls... we aren't sitting around waiting for the graphics to peak and reach its full potential.. we are waiting to see where gaming goes and what comes out of the controls and new innovating gameplay / games / genres...
