Hands-on: Sleep Is Death

Apr 6th 2010 6:50AM (Joystiq)
You make it up each time, even if the starting conditions and players are the same you can make it play out any way you want.

It's a really neat idea but I think Rohrer is selling it a bit short by not including an easy way to find people on the Internet to play with. Since he's including the full source code I'm sure someone will come up with a sort of lobby or matchmaking service. Preferably with some way to rank narrators so that other people could find games with those who run the best games.

Sega 'probably not' making more hardcore Wii games

Good for you, you found a reasonable hit trading off the Resident Evil name and minor success for a game that cost very little to make. So what?

Perhaps you should spend your time learning some words like "colloquialism" instead of posting meaningless sales figures on the Internet.

What did they expect with a lineup like that? Madworld was shallow, The Conduit would have been good in 1997, and no one buys lightgun games so it doesn't matter how awesome House of the Dead was.

Best of the Rest: Alexander's Picks of 2009

This is the best Joystiq list yet. Not sure there's really a bad pick in this lot. And at least it doesn't include the bland, repetitive, and boring Arkham Asylum.

Intuitive? Man, different strokes. That whole aiming the screen and then pointing around on it broke my brain. I loved the game on GameCube and always wished they'd have re-released it with the added content from the PS2 version, but those controls are a complete deal breaker. I'd like the Wii a lot more if these "Wiimakes" would come with an option for GameCube controls. I'd happily pay for 480p versions of a lot of those games but not when the controls make the game unplayable for me.

Maybe I'll give RE4 Wii another go sometime. But it's got to wait for Metroid Prime Trilogy, which I only played once because the controls are just too much work to use.

You're crazy, Resident Evil 5 is one of the best co-op games ever created and RE4 Wii is an uncontrollable mess.

Always with this Batman game. I'm not sure it's even good. It certainly is repetitive and boring though.

So are all his songs about how much he loves this dude, who is totally Jesus and not some guy he sees at the bar but is too afraid to talk to because he'll go to hell if he's gay? I thought the guy needed to get a life when he was just trying to set high scores in video games. Turns out that's the closest he could get.

Sounds like a Dynasty Warriors-style game with guns. That or a shmup. Pretty terrible name if it's not one or the other.

Why did Bioware go with the same stupid conversion for their points that Microsoft uses? Bullshit designed to rip people off. I still run into fools who think 800 points is $8. Pathetic on both ends.
