Unit 13 trailer shows us how to play

Mar 1st 2012 11:41AM (Joystiq)
Day 1 buy for me! Had fun with the demo. I can see why some people may consider it "boring" and not very action-packed, but I actually enjoy the methodical pacing. It reminds me a bit of Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield.

The Store hasn't updated yet. Could be anytime between now, and midnight EST... This is known as "Grace Chen Time"

Vita sales hit 1.2 million worldwide, software surpasses 2 million units

Sony sure has done that before... with the PS3. PS3 themes change everything from the background, to the icons (which would cure your bubble issue), to the menu noises.

They currently allow for changing each page's wallpaper (even allowing the use of transparent PNGs), but no icon changes yet. I'm sure someday we'll see the ability to tweak the icons, but doubt it's high on their priority list at the moment.

I would actually say the opposite. I didn't mind the "Portal-without-portals" animus sections, but absolutely despised the tower defense stuff!

That's 3 very different genres there! I would say Uncharted. (closely followed by WipEout)

Escape Plan review: Shades of grey

Feb 22nd 2012 12:08PM (Joystiq)
Been having fun with this, but you are correct, in that this game does turn into quite a frantic hand dance! It's kind of the opposite of Portal. In Portal, you spend your time figuring out what to do, and once you do, it's usually an easy action to perform. Whereas in Escape Plan, it's typically pretty clear what you need to do, but executing it becomes the challenge.

Syndicate review: The business of aggressive expansion

@Zimmy

I'm actually excited about the fact that it is so close to Deus Ex: HR in visuals and atmosphere! Since I played through DE:HR as "stealthy, mostly-non-lethal", I kind of see this as my "aggressive" playthrough.

Buy two Vita games, get one free at Amazon

@xiLeShadow

Amazon used to sell PSN games. (maybe a year ago?) I really wish they would start doing that again, since I'm going all-digital with Vita. Deals like this will make it tough though!
