Silversun Pickups Call Selling Out a 'Grandpa Idea'

Jun 25th 2010 10:27AM (Spinner)
Looking forward to see SP along with Against Me and Henry Clay in Toronto next week. I agree, the concept of "selling out" is rather meaningless nowadays. We've enjoyed SP from their first album which I heard on an alt indie station here in Canada. Love them.

Snow Patrol Play Acoustic Gig in London Pub Basement

Please Snow Patrol, not all us Canadians need "catchy" tunes, come and play an intimate venue here in Hamilton, Ontario (or Toronto) and songs from Polar Bears or When Its All Over is fantastic. You guys are the best even before your "fame" stuff, in fact I like your "before fame" stuff better. Please play here, not some warmup to U2 or Coldplay. Hamilton, Ontario loves you from the beginning!!

Jim Kelly Is Going to Do His Darndest to Save the Buffalo Bills From Certain Northern Extinction

Nov 4th 2008 12:02PM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
As a CFL and NFL fan and a season ticket holder of the Hamilton TiCats for years and someone who has gone to Buffalo for Bills games over the years, it would be a shame for the Bills to move to Toronto. I love the NFL, but it should stay in the US, I don't care if Toronto ever gets an NFL team. When I want to go to an NFL game, I like going to the US in Buffalo or Detroit.

Here's hoping the Bills stay in Buffalo, Toronto is a hogtown who thinks every other city in the world is beneath them and all they really care about there in that city are the Leafs anyways, the Bills will be another 2nd class citizen team like the other teams in that city behind the Leafs.

NFL Teams in Toronto, London, Mexico City?

Jul 16th 2007 8:45AM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
The only way I'd like an NFL team in Toronto is if it helps the Canadian Football League in some way otherwise I would be agains't the NFL having a team in Toronto. I don't think the NFL would want to do anything to hinder the CFL either as the two leagues seem to be cooperating more and more all the time. It would be unfortunate for the great fans in Buffalo if they lost their team to a city in another country, very unfortunate.

Toronto Bills? If They Reach the Open Market, It's Very Possible

Jul 6th 2007 9:06AM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
As a huge NFL and CFL fan living in Hamilton and having seasons tickets for the Tiger-Cats, I personally would rather see the Bills stay in Buffalo. Moving the team to Toronto for money would not be dignified to the great Buffalo fans. Toronto has the Argonauts in the CFL and Buffalo is just a short drive away so let's keep the status quo where both cities benefit.
That being said, Toronto is a much bigger market than Buffalo and I'm sure the NFL would like to taste that market by having a team there. But it is first and foremost a Leafs NHL town and football will always be behind the Leafs, and maybe the Jays and Raptors as well even with an NFL team. I'm sure the NFL is aware of this and I also question if Toronto could have 40,000+ seasons ticket holders consistently year after year at prices signficantly higher than what you pay for the Argonauts in the CFL. That is a question mark for sure.

League Might Pull Plug on NFL Europa

Jun 21st 2007 10:25AM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
Maybe best to pull the plug and play regular season games over there as the NFL will be doing. And cooperate more and more all the time with the Canadian Football League (I'm Canadian and season ticket holder for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats) to promote North American gridiron pro football. I love both the NFL and CFL and would love to see some co-promotion activity between the 2 leagues.

Flat panel TV prices are on the decline [update 1]

Aug 3rd 2006 12:11PM (Joystiq)
Well, from Canada, prices more expensive here for everything, bought a CRT 36" Samsung 5 years ago for about $800 and my couch is about 8' away from it, looks great, does the trick for me in terms of screen size and with little HD programming presently although more coming, why would I spend thousands of dollars on something more when most programs aren't even being delivered that way, and I don't play computer games and current DVD movies show excellent on this CRT? Doesn't make sense to this consumer presently at the prices shown. And I'm certainly not going from a 36" screen size to a 42" size, I want when HD programming becomes the norm, a 55" screen size, high def, excellent quality like a what I have now for no more than $2000. Think I'll wait for the new 56" Samsung that uses LED technology and see what this looks like but I'm sure it will be overpriced like all the rest out there now.
