This report is somewhat misleading. The problem only exists if you enable PLii surround sound. If you leave the game at stereo, its actually in stereo. If you have a receiver, then just have it simulate surround based off the stereo feed instead of relying on the game to provide PLii data for surround.

Can't I just buy it and use it as a CDMA signal booster/repeater without the subscription fee? I really don't give a flip about using my cell carrier as my ISP, but I would love to get better cell reception at the house so I could get rid of my land line.

Why do companies always get this wrong? AVI is not a codec; it is a mux container. Telling me you "support AVI playback" is about as specific as telling me "it plays music files".

I'd say my fav scene is when the Persian army starts crashing down on the Spartains in the pass and the Spartains slowly push the whole of them right back out. If that doesn't make you a badass mofo, nothing does.

Is there really that much decent programming on TV to generate a market for this? Really?

Even if there is how is this better than using a Slingbox? WTF are these people thinking?

Open note to cell phone companies : Quit dorking around with crappy video and game services. Concentrate on improving your customer service, better coverage, and working with manufacturers to achieve better battery life on the phones themselves. Once you've got these down, then you can muck around with useless products.

Something is wrong with that math. Only $550,000 in sales a year over 72 stores? That's only ~$7600/year per store. That would mean they only sold roughly 150 games per store all year long. No way they could keep the doors open with those kinds of sales. Perhaps $550k in net profit, but no way its annual sales. You sure as hell wouldn't buy out a chain for $40M if they were doing that badly, you'd let them die off on their own.

I'd also like to point out that TW owns Gametap, further proving the "no video game development since the 80s" to be bunk.

It seems like most people waiting in line to buy a PS3 are selling them on eBay. Makes me wonder who is going to end up actually buying it.

I also hope most people will be too tired to wait around for a Wii.
