Simple, the reason the embargo was lifted today is due to the fact that game is released Monday at midnight, or Tuesday if you are not insane in enough to get it at the midnight openings.
And the game hasn't been out for 3 months in the places where the embargo was in effect, in essence Japan doesn't really matter.
Considering Blizzard was owned by Vivendi Universal and they have the 52% controlling share of the merged company you still only technically own 1 Activision game.
