There are important differences between blogging and other journalism, but that doesn't make a site like Joystiq any less a part of the media.
This should have been noted in the post, but we took pains to remove outliers by setting an upper limit on sale price for the auctions we considered. We also used other filters to make sure each auction was for just the system, not some sort of bundle or related item (games, etc.)
