Except he never claimed any of the work as his own. The only thing he took credit for was putting the separate mods together into a single package.

There was an issue with the right people not receiving credit, but he made an effort to give credit where it was due from day one

I'd be interested to see the legality of that claim.

It seems reasonable to me that they could claim to own the modification itself. However, because of the fact that it was distributed for free in the first place, I don't see how they could claim that this use of their modification hurt them economically.

As far as I can see from a legal perspective, this is fair use

I've been following this game since its announcement in 2006, eating up all the PR crap assuring everyone that the game was still headed for a release.

This looks to be the nail in the coffin, though. I'm calling vaporware.

I think I lost interest in this series right after Niccolo Machiavelli revealed to me that he was a member of the Assassin's guild and then proceeded to swan dive off a tower.
