The watchmen sequence is the best I have ever seen. Wolverine did a similar thing. Too bad the rest of the movie sucked!

The only reason feature length movies are 24FPS is a limitation of the medium, ie Film. Movies are not supposed to only run at that speed, just as music is not supposed to be stereo. There haven been plenty of independent movies that were shot on video that are NTSC/PAL.


But there are already cell phones shooting video in HD, with better camera lenses, especially Nokia's with Carl Zeis ones, and Flip & other pocket video cams, and that hasn't resulted in better film makers. Contrary to popular belief, Apple products do not run on magic and can not install talent in people. If somebody creative like that was looking for an outlet, they weren't looking hard enough, which means their existence is suspect.

I don't know if you ever noticed, but House is heavily based of Sherlock Holmes.

As a Sherlock Holmes fan, it was one of the best depictions of the character on screen in years. I must say, though,RDJ played Charlie Chaplain playing Sherlock Holmes. In fact, I think there might've been some references to Sherlock Junior, the first action movie ever.

Anyway I am going to watch Mother, the new movie from Korean maverick Bong Joon Ho. Maybe start the first season of Party Down. There's of course, the new Doctor Who.

My favorite book about hollywood is the Brian Michael Bendis' hilarious comic Fortune & Glory, written before he became a Marvel big kahuna. The art is a little wonky, but its tolerable and the completely brilliant words more than cover for it.

All of the better ones have been mentioned here, butr it exclude TV title sequences. One of the best TS ever is Dexter opening sequence. The first time you ever see it, it really does give you the sense of the show. Supernatural, a vastly underrated show, has a different sequence every season. The past 2 season start with some of the most creepiest things I've ever seen .

The Watchmen sequence though, is brilliant, in all its aspects.
