Even for its mediocre review scores (which I felt the game deserved better), Alpha Protocol did let you bypass, shorten, or extend major conflicts depending on choices and actions you made. Mass Effect has also done this to a degree, so I guess I was hoping for an evolution to this design in DE.
@Red Runner Did you play SCRPG? Are you aware that according to its own creator, the game is made to explore the presence of bullying in school, the effects the shooting had, and the role the media played after wards? The creator also used the controversy, not directly to sell more games, but rather use it as an example of how games are art. Just because you may not agree with the message, does not mean the message shouldn't exist.
Also, have you never played any game (GTA, Saint's Row, Modern Warfare) where you kill other people or commit crimes that you could (but hopefully don't) commit in real life?
At first glance I thought the headline was "MS Point Scam Net Earns Microsoft over $1 million." I knew it was wrong because they make way more off of it.
Also afraid of this. In order to "sell two to three times as many," they will probably over-sexualize Faith, make guns standard, and subdue the puzzle aspects. I do hope they avoid this, if they want to make it more mainstream while being Faithful (yay pun) to the original: keep the stylized art, but change the cutscenes; stream line some of the hand-to-hand combat choices, provide more creative alternative paths throughout the game. Also, a stylized art tone for the night scenes to be as visual as the day scenes would go a long way. Think about how the Spiderman 2099 levels looked in Shattered Dimensions.
I'm not disappointed about lack of multiplayer per se, but it would be interesting at certain points of the game to let you take over as a different character. Nightwing, Robin, etc. They all have their own strengths and skills.
