I thought Justin didn't like games set in the far future where him and his loved ones are long gone because he finds it hard to care about the character's motivation...
zing!
ME2 rocks. Thanks Bioware, another epic under the belt.
I know that was a little strong; but I'm sick of these reviewers and their unfairness. Out of all the reviews out there this one takes the cake, this guy makes the most inane remarks, did you read what he said about not caring about War's revenge because him and everyone he loved had died in the Apocalypse? Lmao. Someone has to say it like it is.
"""The colorful comic-booky take on the apocalypse is interesting and occasionally beautiful, but it's so aggressively "edgy" that it occasionally pushes even my inner 12-year-old a bit too far."""
Are you f***ing serious man?! Since when comic book looks are 12 year old's exclusive? Joe Mad's style is superb, he is one of the most celebrated artists of modern America comics sites. In fact, his unique style has been recognized as one of the most effective fusions of anime-comic; and I tell you that is not an easy task. In game it works, and it is freaking great.
"""It's also a little tough getting pumped for War's vengeance when I remember that me and everyone I've ever loved were recently killed in a global holocaust."""
This is where I KNOW you are full of sh*t. How can you make this comment a part of your review, dude? I thought you were joking, honestly! In how many film and game scenarios mankind is f*cked? Come on! And you are questioning the motivation or of the main character? Nice one, chief.
For some incredibly IDIOTIC reason that I am yet to understand, all, or most of all reviewers from main stream websites such as this one, are apparently insulted that someone comes along and improves on the formula from their beloved Zelda and takes it up to modern standards; these nostalgic morons are so stupidly biased that want to convince the gaming community (that has yet to buy the game) with the two bits reviews and multi-comparison charades. And what they don't mention is that almost EVERY game out there is carrying on already created standards; if we start making a list it would go on forever.
"""Far too often you'll be stuck mid-dungeon without a particularly good idea of what you need to do next or, more infuriatingly, you'll know exactly what you need to do but are hindered either by a poor design choice or a technical screw up."""
Ok, here is the deal; if Darksiders' puzzle system infuriates you; then you ARE NOT FIT to review this game in this site. Did you recently start playing games? is the Xbox360 your first console? Have you played any of the old Castlevanias or Metroids, or any other hardcore action adventure game? What poor design choice is there that hinders your progression in Darksiders? (How did you get this job???)Technical screw ups stopping you?! WHERE? (The Ps3 version is perfect btw) What a load of crap you have on display here, sir.
I question your integrity as a "professional" reviewer, offering false and cleverly disguised casual comments to convey, manipulate and mislead the viewers. Like I said above, Mr. McElroy, you are full of sh*t.
Its a f*cking action game, the dancing is complementary; it's not DDR or Dance Hero; the game will rock, Kamiya always hits his mark. Bayonetta looks hot to me, i am not inimidated by big women; i actually prefer them since i'm a big guy.
