Annnnd here's our answer as to why FFXIII was a dungeon crawler with no large towns.

I have to wonder if this really is just a testament as to how hard it is for them to do FF for HD systems (another developer previously mentioned it in another interview, as to why FFXIII was how it is), or if Square Enix simply isn't that well equipped with talented staff.

That's not a direct dig at them.. it just seems like odd comments given some of the amazing stuff we have been seeing come out from other studios.

Hmm I wonder if this is such a good idea. I watched the first ep of Trinity Soul a while back and it didn't seem like anything I'd want to watch more of (case in point: I didn't watch any more of it). Of course, this was before I knew anything about the Persona games, and stranger anime has sold alright in NA I guess

I'm completely not sold on replacing orbs with followers. Unless followers burst out of an enemy after you kill them I can already see a lot of insta-gratification getting lost in the change.

And it's stuff like that I hear which worries me even more about this game. Fair enough if you like it, but I gotta admit that that description doesn't really sound like something that makes me excited for a JRPG Final Fantasy title. How do you find the story fares?

Although, I guess according to the seasoned veteran Wiizer I should just block out everyone's opinion until I buy it and play it for myself. Be nice if the world worked that way, but I try not to buy blindly on brand name alone. I'll wait for the Western reviews and see what the general feel of it is for non-japanese JRPG fans before deciding whether to spend my money on it or not.

I love their games, but I have to admit I'd feel a bit better buying the latest stuff if they actually had something anywhere close to HD sprites. I gotta wonder how many people were put off by Disgaea 3 because of the ps2 quality.

Course, a massive profit drop like this isn't likely to give them the funds to realize this shortcoming either.

Regardless of that fact, it has still has had an astounding amount of criticism leveled towards it from fans of the series (more than I recall any other FF game getting) due to its linearity and, supposedly (as it all is at this stage for us Westerners), a really dull story

Not likely, but the first thing I thought was "how pissed off would 360 fanbois be if Fable went multi-plat?"

Huge physique aside, I always thought he had a bit of a sissy face when he was in WWE (not as bad as Bobby Lashley, who looks like Wayne Brady on steroids, but still not very menacing)... but I gotta say that he's looking pretty badass on this cover
