New way to reduce your mortgage: Stop paying!

Oct 25th 2008 10:06AM (WalletPop)
I love how people assume that everyone is irresponsible. How about those people who get told everything is fine by their employers that their jobs are safe only to be laid off 3 months later. I think that no one would sign any long term contract (ie an mortgage, car loan) if they knew that they would be out of work in two months. So these people are a victim of the times. I know plenty of people in cities that have both husband and wife working in the same industries and they both get laid off. So much for your plan. One person covering the mortgage is great but then there are tax increases and insurance increases and utility increases. Someone I know got assessed (in a middle class area) an additional 400 dollars per month onto their property taxes. Until we get these corporate crackheads and politicians in check we are simply not going to have any options other than to find the best chinese made tent and get the first open spot under a bridge.

I would not want to face Master Chief. He make brutes and just about anything else look like crap.

Wii Warm Up: What haven't you heard?

Jul 13th 2007 11:55AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
If the price of the 360 drops to 199 non gamers with kids will probably have heard of the wii. That will make it hard for the price to make that big of a difference. If they know their kid wants halo. Then it probably does not matter.

Wii Warm Up: What haven't you heard?

It would be nice to remind them we want some form of external drive compatibility to allow us to store our VC games on a hard drive and access them via the channel menu. I am tired of copying them back in forth.

Slash will rock out in Guitar Hero III

@11 The reason you will spend less overall on PS3 is because you will not buy very many games. I only see 2 games that I would want on the system with a grand total of maybe 5-6 by years end. I have that much budgeted into original games for xbox in november alone. Now if Sony had retained most of the exclusives it lost it might have had a more powerful hand to play. But if it loses exclusivity of MGS then it might just be a glamorized dreamcast. I would buy it on XBOX before considering buying it on PS3.

Play NES ROMs through official hardware with PowerPak

Jun 14th 2007 8:31PM (Joystiq)
I love the idea. I already own tons of games and always wanted to make a NES arcade machine that was actually hardware based sorta like that jukebox device marketed for genesis. This is one better though. Now you can just put as many games as you can fit on a compact flash card and never have to switch carts again. Sweet. Now if only they would do it with the SNES and genesis. Then that would be the end of all things man.

Sony says if the PS2 flopped, people would be cheering on the PS3

It is a good point. But it is like sobering up and saying maybe I should not have said or done what I did last night. They hyped this thing like the second coming of JC. They promised two hdmi outs for multiple monitors. They promised time travel. They promised immortality. I seriously doubt they will come out of this one in under 2 years. I buy systems for games and am still waiting for them from Sony.
Maybe they should focus on improving their position by getting the flaws fixed and shuffling some of their titles around to make it worth it to PS3 owners instead of picking on nintendo with these comments. It is fairly obvious they are aiming at gamecube with this comment. At least Nintendo and Microsoft provided some content on their downloadable services at the start to buy a little time to provide customers with something to choose while waiting for more large titles. PSN which is better than xbox live (sarcasm) has 4 titles tops now so about 1 every 3 weeks, barely any demos to try and they expect people to sit on a download screen for ages waiting for the next opportunity to play.

Dan Aykroyd busts out Ghostbusters info

Now that could be a great game for the wiimote. could you imagine aiming at the ghost and throwing out a trap with the nunchuck while pressing the trigger on the back of the wiimote to fire the stream and then open the trap with z button on the nunchuck. Too sweet.

Microsoft reveals 100GB 360 drive at X06 Korea

I really hope they phase out the 20 gig and replace that sku with the 100 gig. 100 bucks for a 100 gig sounds about right to me. Who wants to pay 200 plus for that.

Lumines denied, Live still buggy

Oct 18th 2006 3:12PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Man, coming off of no power and heat for a week from the big october storm in Buffalo puts all in perspective. Live a week in frigid hell and you really begin to appreciate every little luxury you get. People that sit here and complain because of a slight problem that interferes with your entertainment for a few hours need to have a wake up call. Still there are 100000 homes and businesses with out any of the luxuries, (heat, electric, phone, cable, fresh food(freezers and fridges have long since thawed and spoiled), basements flooding) and most will be that way until sunday at the earliest. We were lucky it was only a week for us. Be thankful for all you do have.
