Australian court halts PSJailbreak sales ... to anyone but Sony
Aug 28th 2010 7:50AM (Joystiq)PSJailbreak is real, is sold out, and is likely to get your console banned for using it
Aug 25th 2010 7:10AM (Joystiq)FAT32 Supports up to 32GB -NOT 4GB...
This is deffo a post too far....
right... Piracy- such a dirty word ain't it?
People need to realise that there's Always gonna be a "black market" of things.... from any profitable product.
Take tobacco for example- cheap tobacco imported from other countries cos it's cheaper, when the US Prohibition was in the 1920/30's -how many sneaky side walk boozers was there?
gaming/movie piracy is the latest black market thing,it's something that some society's of life don't agree with and some that do.....
at the end of the day- yes i used to pirate ps1 games- hell i've still got it chipped buried under me bed somewhere with tonnes of copied games lol....
If these companies make so much money-surely they'd invest in new anti piracy tech that take one hell of a beating.....if companies did that prices of games as well as console would be a hell of a lot higher than they are now.... average cost of a game in US is around $50 yeh?- compared to the UK cos of VAT and Tax- it's £50 ($77) per game! god know's what prices they'll shoot up to if they invest in more anti piracy tech...
this USB dongle thing doesn't make any sense to me either tbh....
it uses some sort of " backup manager" from articles i've read everywhere and seen the Youtube vid...
a couple of questions arise....
1) the usb dongle tech- the max USB size i've seen is 256GB by Kingston- at a astounding price of $900 (£600)
gee you can buy at least 2 PS3's with that.....
so that means that every pirate will be spending so much money to play so many games at once.... or stick with a 60GB USB and stick to one game per usb (even the price for a 60GB is $185 (£120)... so i can't see that working can you?
2) What does sony do next?
simple -disable the backup manger... the saves can be copied to a usb device or a psp.....
but of course you're gonna get the morons who complain about i paid for a serivce that was advertised ..... they didn't advertised about Linux...someone who 1st reviewed the ps3 found it.....
and then have the nerve to sue Sony for not supplying the service... hold on... Go and buy a Linux built pc if ya want linux -the PS3 is a Gaming console-not some pc/gaming console mashup.... (rant over lol )
so supposedly disabling the backup manager could do it-but also can do PSN tracking-now this batches into something more serious..... Privacy..... for sony to ban people who are using piracy-they would have to update the T&C's so then the user cant say you're spying on me without my consent-lawsuit here i come.....
So then-my view of things.... it'll work for about 2 weeks... then the banning/patches start.
Exclusive: the first images of PS3 firmware 2.00
Nov 7th 2007 6:53PM (Joystiq Playstation)the 360 fans will still rub it in our faces.
why have i spent £425 on a machine that gathers dust super sonic fast and gets delay after delay after delay.
this update is just to make it prettier-like its a Barbie doll.... rather than a actual games console.
