Here is an article stating that Bluray players cost $400 to build.

Probably newsworthy.

That settles it. If first generation electronics are big and expensive, I'll wait until the market makes them affordable and small. I'm not in any rush to buy my movies all over again for a modest improvement anyways.

Rumble Pak finally available for the Nintendo DS

Apr 7th 2006 10:01AM (Engadget)
The rumble pack works in Metroid Prime Hunters and is completely amazing, not to mention helpful. I play on the train with the sound down and can stil 'feel' when I get hit.

Beating a boss with the rumble pack produces a super cool effect too.

Bluray drives are no exception. Those things are huge and ugly.

Sony's T30 7.2 megapixel ultracompact

Where did the 16% number come from? Is it really only 16% of cameras sold that use Memory Stick?

I don't care how much the price drops; if it is more expensive and used in fewer devices than SD cards, it is worthless.

I found that random reboots are often caused by software. In particular, a piece of software called LightWav caused my phone to reset when getting calls quite often. I got rid of the software, and got a phone that worked!

Universal won't downsample HD DVD content

Wow. I'm impressed that movie studios would be willing to let me watch the films I purchase in the format I purchased them in.

That said, I won't be picking up Bluray (blurry?) or HD DVD.

Sony confirms PS3 controller redesign

Mar 24th 2006 9:09AM (Engadget)
The Playstation 3 'boomerang' controller is the first substantial form-factor change since the original controller, ten years ago. If Sony abandons the redesign to a modified Dual Shock 2, it sounds like an admission that they can't design a unique controller. After all, the Dual Shock is only a refinement of borrowed ideas, stolen by Sony.

If your first date is impressed with the size of your blurry player, you need help.
