mandriva is mostly dead, it's a bit sad It was my 2nd distro I tried... I recommend linux mint, it was rock solid for me at home.

ps. I don't know why, but I have always found kde to be buggy.... gnome is pretty stable for me though

@bathellfire Since gateway = acer not that good. My friends haven't had good experience with gateways. not the best for tech support but my acer is working fine, I have to send it in though because the screen has an issue (dark spots) my friend had the same thing happen to his HP so it's just luck of the draw. If you want to know how it goes let me know and I'l let you know when I get it back. I also have an acer monitor that works great, and my Grandmothers acer monitor looks even nicer :D.

@rplush It's one of those issues, that not everyone has, it has a lot of factors (signal, 3g, hand size etc.) that come into play.
